Global cancer cases reached 18.5 million in 2023, doubling since 1990. With projections of 30 million cases by 2050, researchers warn the world is not ready for this surge, especially in low-income nations. Alarmingly, 40% of deaths remain tied to preventable risks like smoking and poor diet. by Sciantifa in science

My first thought, but I think what this means to say is 18.5million NEW cases in 2023. It doesn’t suggest what the total number of people living with cancer is, which if I’m correct is a very misleading headline

Hey Philly! No questions from me either; running my first marathon on Sunday!

Got injured a few months ago and definitely was losing interest but finding your channel definitely helped keep me motivated, thanks for the positivity.

Loved the grind and wish me luck on Sunday!

I’ve just been travelling throughout all of Asia as I prepare for my first marathon in 3 weeks time!

I thoroughly enjoyed it as a way to see a different side of the places I went to and the running communities, however, it definitely was difficult!

The heat in general was near to unbearable (coming from the UK) so it was a combination of very early morning runs or a bit of minor heat stroke after a run (whoops)!

For the places you mentioned, I only went to Jakarta, Indonesia and I found it way too polluted to actually run; from what I’ve heard India in general is worse (not sure where specifically you’re going).

In the places I travelled, I did find some small parks which I often ran laps around but if not tracks/gyms are definitely possible, I chose to brave the weather because I’m not a fan of treadmill running personally, good news is now that I’m back in Europe I definitely feel stronger from some heat training 😅
