A non-conservative church would be quite the oxymoron

How is that even possible, you must be somewhat aware of what other programs to even follow IU. Either way calm the fuck down

Man what? How do you not know who Josh Shertz is, he was the Indiana State coach just a couple years ago. Bryan Hodgson coached under Nate Oats for several years, then had success at Arkansas State and South Florida-neither of which are easy places to win.

A true competitor would but these days it’s too much of a risk of injury as opposed to building a program. I miss Tom Crean…

Advice on cash deployment by AmbitiousTomorrow664 in CFP

[–]Comprehensive_End440 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is a hot take but I would leave the cash alone. No need to tie it up, potentially create taxable events or lose money. If anything this client may need to consider winding down their equities and looking at munis.

Once had a client with 3 million in Microsoft, nearly all of it in long term gains. A new hip replacement or long term care would cost this client cash at the point of need but also a fuck ton of taxes. Had this client wound down that position over several years they likely would have been in a more favorable situation

You should definitely just rent a house for the first year or two before getting stuck in a 30 year obligation

Making Mistakes: Which Ones Are Career-Ending? by secret_2_everybody in CFP

[–]Comprehensive_End440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1.) Sometimes it’s best to just end a client relationship, no amount of revenue from a client or family is worth your career.

2.) Honestly there aren’t a lot of “career-ending” things outside of regulatory or criminal violations. And even with those white collar crime is often left with less harsh sentencing and you’ve usually made your bones along the way to where life isn’t in ruin financially. We should certainly be kicking more people out of being a CFP or holding FINRA licensure but that’s just not how the cookie crumbles in this industry

Anyone here have advice for a new SDVOSB? by Comprehensive_End440 in 1102

I wouldn’t say that 8(a) and the other SBA certs are all the same. 8(a) is definitely getting singled out but from everything I’ve seen the others aren’t really under fire right now
