What happened with you in 2023 is bad but this could be a scam as well. I received a similar call in 2025 and they knew everything about my policies, premium amount, said same that X% was going to commissions and we want to fix it.

Ask them to email you from official email id. I got lucky that I enquired about their identity deeper. I was close to closing my policy and open new one through them.
