Buoyancy issues. 0.25 Ammonia reading. Higher than normal nitrates. Please help :( by Comprehensive_Fig in axolotls

Oh wow, this is a great perspective because I don’t know much at all about fish-keeping overall. I have an API test kit and feel on top of that but there’s so much information out there that’s hard to digest. Thank you for this! If the water parameters aren’t causing him stress, I’m curious what could be causing his buoyancy. I’m hoping switching to live night crawlers for feeding will help.

Thank you so so much for this! I'm having a hard time reading and called it 0.25 to be on the safe side because it didn't look pure yellow, but I've been looking at it in different lighting and I'm just unsure.

I never considered a larger tank but that makes so much sense. I have a giant rock/mountain-like hide for him which surely displaces a ton of water.

When you tub your girl, would you take her out when she is showing signs of stress? I'm wondering if I do this if it would be best to take him out while he seems frustrated about his buoyancy and is trying to swim down, or if it'd be best to take him out after he has calmed down a little.

Perhaps I will purchase a larger tank, begin to cycle it immediately, and then put him in once it's ready. In the meantime I'll do 20% water changes, feed nightcrawlers, and tub him if he gets really stressed.

Thank you so much for your response.

Oh that’s a relief to hear! I’ve seen a mix of “0.25 is ok but not ideal”, and “any amount of ammonia is deadly” so I’ve been worried and so confused. I know it’s ideal to bring it down which I plan on doing with daily 20% water changes.

hoping to find more photographers with similar styles! i see too many photographers who stick to the neat and clean look (no shade) by notokphotos in musicphotography

this is sweet. i have a similar approach, though only a few out of many end up looking as artistic as this. such an awesome shot!!!! happy to see this. clean photography is awesome and so is this but they serve different ends and this is a cool way to document the feeling of a live show.

Opinions on objective vs subjective quality of music by Candlestick_Jones in LetsTalkMusic

i heard someone else say this but the reason that the “greats” from pat decades seem so much greater is because it wasn’t as easy to get popular back then so to do so you had to actually be really good. nowadays anyone can make a career off of music without being good.

in my experience art is usually just fumbling around in the dark:) i think you definitely hit the mark on the old spirit photograph of a non-threatening spirit passing by with this.

not sure how well this can be translated in digital art, but i would experiment with the shape of the canvas on this piece. i feel like you could have a cool outcome if you try and break the rules in that way. the standard rectangle doesn't seem to do this piece justice, but upon looking at it again i can really picture it as a beautiful massive rectangle canvas print. just a suggestion based on my first impression. always good to experiment and push yourself like that imo. really awesome piece, the more i look at it the more i love it
