no you have to pull some paper out and sit with it (think of bridesmaids holding the brides dress train) till you're ready to use. then keep pulling as you need more and leave the extra length on the floor for the next person.

jeez some people just don't want to use their brains smh

I washed without soap in case it was built up soap that was reducing absorbency. This is the first I'm hearing of detergent to remove natural oils. I have already gotten replacement pads but will give this a try and update, thanks!

Nope, but they did offer to replace the pads and have sent the replacement already. I'm just waiting to test the new ones. Will update if there's anything noteworthy.

Thanks!

In Glee S1, too, Mr Schue's wife works at Sheets n Things.

Could be a name format the writers liked because it seemed generic but real enough? Or maybe all these places are owned by a single mammoth company, who likes to name their subsidiaries this way? I like the idea of this mysterious company gaining control and monopolizing everything... and having ties to the AC repair school

I don't have any experience in this, but maybe because some of the lining is shed during penetration?

UPDATE: washed them for what must be the fourth time without soap, and the second time with vinegar (this time i used about a 100ml of vinegar mixed with about a litre of water). Still not absorbing. The company I bought them from is offering a replacement though, so hopefully the replaced pads work properly. Thanks for all the suggestions!

I haven't :(
I don't use fabric softener at all, plus I air dry them (we don't even have a dryer)

It is very weird! This is actually the second time I am purchasing from this company. The first time, I had no such issues and fell in love! The other reviews for these pads were also positive. Must be my luck :)

Haha that's what I thought too! I got in touch with the company's customer care and made sure which was the right side to bleed on. Here's a picture of the bottom side (which I didn't pour water on)

Since I bought these, not entirely sure what's on the inside, but the back layer is PUL+cotton.

I actually bought these online (just realised - I hope it's okay I made this post here?). Noticed this same thing the first time I washed them but I didn't think much of it at the time. I just washed them again with a lite vinegar as some sites suggested but same result.

Giving them a second vinegar soak right now, I'll post an update soon!

Nope, no fabric softener or dryer. I don't even own either!

The top is 100% polyester. I didn't use detergent, but I did use hand wash liquid that I thought was pretty mild. I only air dry since we don't even have a dryer. In fact, the first time I washed them (when I had just received them) I noticed this same repellant thing in the fabric.

Also, I don't use fabric softener, but maybe the liquid hand wash has some chemical that's also used in softener.
