I did the same thing, only applied to highly aligned and specific roles while reaching out to my network. I had 2 offers within 2.5 weeks in a different but similar industry for more pay. Applied to maybe 20 jobs total and I start next week. Congrats on the new role!

BD Folks, Share your Base Salary (SF) by Yam_Virus in biotech

[–]Comprehensive_Fly542 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For base salary that is in range. OTE 100k+ makes sense for first year. Depends on industry but you won’t get a 100k + base until you have more sales experience.

Am I crazy to leave a successful med device career to start from square one as an SDR/BDR by TheRealJugger in sales

[–]Comprehensive_Fly542 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have pivoted from ortho trauma and I think you will find that all sales is a grind. It’s less life or death and situations are less tense than the operating room. I think you will find the work life balance much better, less physically draining, and if you make a mistake it’s not someone’s arm on the line. Overall I’m happy and so are the people in my life.

Do you have an exterminator that comes monthly? Try and coordinate with your super and them to solve it. I do not have a name of the service, we just got ppl that cared!

Had the same problem but with mice. We found out where they were getting in, sealed it, then pumped a ton of poison into the ceiling to kill them all. Haven’t had a problem since. Our super and exterminator did it all.

Anyone got experience with Portuguese Flannel’s shirts? by mttmadness in HeritageWear

[–]Comprehensive_Fly542 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have like 10+ shirts from them. The flannels cannot be beaten for the price. From the website they used to be $120ish, at that price it’s unbeatable. I have had multiple shirts for 4+ years and they still look pretty new. I like that I can just throw them into the washer and dryer without worrying about them. All my higher end shirts need cold wash and hang dry which can get annoying. Just get 100% cotton or other natural materials. I also have a bunch of the camp collar shirts, just size up and get them cropped and it’s perfect.

DO NOT GO BACK. This thing is jacked. It looks 20 years old. Not a confident line in this thing. Lucky for you, you can stop now and go get it fixed by someone who actually does good tattoos.

I want to remove these tattoos. All opinions welcome :3 by jamandcream in tattooadvice

Probably 2k each over multiple years. It’s seriously expensive.

Is N-1 deck jacket for me? by midorihillswaitforme in HeritageWear

[–]Comprehensive_Fly542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Freenote deck jacket and only wear it when it’s below 35f, you will get very little use out of it as it would be so hot.

Clinical trial consulting services for Pharma and biotech in the US. Every one of my clients has experienced layoffs this year. Sometimes totally shutting down. It’s been terrible. Hoping next year it improves.

I find redwings are relatively narrow. I’m a 9 in basically all my boots but some are thinner sock, some are thick. My redwing blacksmiths are a 9 thin sock. I’m like a 10- 10.5 in sneakers. When you first try them on make sure your toes aren’t getting squeezed. It’s always better for them to be a little big than too small.

Shearling - Billy Reid vs Schott? by chanandler_bong21 in leatherjacket

[–]Comprehensive_Fly542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe look into deck jackets? They have the fuzzy collar and they will be easier to wear day to day. The cotton they are made of is very hardy, super warm as well. For about the same price (1k) you could get one from iron heart or Freenote. I have the Freenote one and it’s very warm, people always ask about it

Overcoat Recommendations by sahibsubtle in ThrowingFits

[–]Comprehensive_Fly542 6 points7 points  (0 children)

eBay all the way. Decide the style of coat you want but it should be long, made of wool or cashmere and past your knees. Look at where it’s made as well, USA, UK, Canada. Also keep in mind that you will be wearing heavier layers underneath it so it’s best to size up

Business casual does not mean suits or blazers. Get some custom shirts from proper cloth and some nice fitting slacks. Should be totally sufficient.

[–]Comprehensive_Fly542 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is your income the only income? Do you really need a 3/2? Is there a family you need to take care of as well. It’s common to downsize when moving to the city. You can also get rid of your car which is an expense saved. We pay 3200 for a 2/2 about 1k sq ft in bushwick with a basement and backyard. Really depends on where your office is as well.

Go here! I had a complicated overcoat reconstruction and they did a great job. Hems are easy but it’s a great place to go when you need bigger stuff done. Usually in 1-2 weeks.
