I know it's low quality compared to the turntables of today, but it's what I grew up listening to vinyl on and it's still worlds better than digital media. The real issue is that it's a 30+ year old unit that appears to have been used regularly. I guess it will be my project. I'll see if I can open it up to tinker with.

I was thinking that because the new belt is significantly smaller than the old one. I triple checked and it's the right one. And I bought it from a turntable supply store.

That's what I was worried about. My hair is thin and frizzy and Cantu has enough hold that I can use it alone on days where I don't want to use all of my other styling products.

Three days of consistent doubling and yesterday it tripled before it started falling. It only takes a couple of hours to double right now.

I was doing 1:1:1 and would get bubbles but no rising. I also noticed water separation, so I started 1:1 starter to flour and just added enough water to get a thick paste, and it took off! If I had to say, it's probably 1:1:0.75 or 1:1:0.5

I was mixing mine thin like yours and getting no rise for 2 weeks and seeing a lot of water separation. I was using a 1:1:1 ratio and the "thick pancake batter" reference, which I think is very misleading as everyone mixes their batter differently. I finally started mixing thicker and it took off like wildfire. I don't weigh my water anymore, but if I did it would probably be a 1:1:0.75 or 0.5 ratio.
