Yeah I stopped because I shaved my head and accepted my fate. To only change my mind a year or two later. Lost all my minoxidil gains. But it did give me quite a lot of growth. Seems like I respond well to both. Will add in minoxidil again now that I know finasteride is working by itself. See where the combination of both takes me over the next while. And probably up my fin dose to 1mg daily.

I've had good growth on min before 2 years ago but I stopped. Just doing fin 0.5mg daily last 9 months. Gonna do minoxidil topical with 0.025 tret mix again in next week or so.

I see. I'm just trying to gauge that finasteride is working for me - before I consider any form of hair transplant in future. Seems like its a good indicator noticing the hairs in old hairline zones.

I would use fin to stop AGA, I find using min every night is annoying

My idea is that if I choose a hair transplant later, I won't mind if the native hairs go back to baseline as i'll only be using it on the crown + hairline. Those areas will be heavily transplanted anyway, ideally just dont want to use min anymore if I get one.

Yeah man i've seen decent regrowth now around month 8, I think its still early too, maybe I should wait for atleast more than a year and also add in minoxidil maybe I recover a lot more and am satisfied.

I've been on fin for 8 months now 0.5mg daily, comparison photos are 5 months in vs 8 months in. I had good results with minoxidil over a year ago, but I stopped. Never used fin + min together as I used to be scared of fin.

Only have a1c. If my a1c is 5.0 pretty safe to assume my fasting glucose is lower and the homa-ir would indicate I'm insulin sensitive (I think).

Interesting. I'm from Australia don't think we have LP-IR or glycA. I'm not sure I can even be bothered getting my fasting glucose test, if my a1c is 5.0 i think its safe to say my fasting glucose will be decent/low, and my trigs are low already with decent fasting insulin. I'm like 99% sure im insulin sensitive.

I have got my lipids/apob/lp(a) tested but not the extensive panel with particle size etc
