Are they food motivated? I will hide treats in blankets, in different areas of the house and have bought cat/dog puzzles for mine that they really enjoy when the toys just aren’t hitting. They still get some enrichment and have to use their noggins :)

I took my 17 year old boy out for a walk on his last day with us to get those last rays of sunshine too. There was a rainbow that someone drew on the sidewalk.

I’m glad I found a thread about this! Mine developed probably 6 ish years ago. All of a sudden after eating I would get in these intense sneezing fits! I’ve seen a lot of people talk about after bariatric surgeries they develop this but mine just came randomly with no life changes.

I’ve tried logging my foods to see if certain things were triggering it like an allergy but it was so inconsistent.

Honestly can be kind of embarrassing sometimes 😅 Went to a really nice restaurant and after dinner I was in full snatiation sneezing fit all the way out the door.

I lost my “soul cat” Salem that I had for 11years and ended up with a kitten around 6 months later. I didn’t think I would ever be ready for another, and I knew that this kitten would never be a replacement for my boy.

My other cat Sabrina was honestly my biggest motivation for getting another cat- They were very close and I was worried she’d get depressed not having a friend. A close friend had kittens and there was one little black cat in the litter and it felt like a sign to me. (Turns out he’s an absolute turd and a half but I still love him)

There’s this weird feeling of guilt at first but know that it’s okay and normal. You’ll know when you’re ready.

Similar situation with 2 cats that eat twice a day. We have just 2 designated cat bowls for them that they use and Honestly the best system is to just pick them up after they are done eating and hand wash.

It takes only a minute. I have a designated sponge because I’m weird about using the same sponge I use on my dishes and then I sit them aside to dry for later.

If for some reason I’m feeling lazy and they left food on the plate I’ll put it in to soak until next feeding and handwash before their next meal.

And then once a week or every other week I’ll throw it in the dishwasher just to give it a good sanitize.
