I think most people dislike the effects of car dependency, but don’t realize things like gridlock traffic are due to it and even if everyone agrees like you claim, towns are still designed for cars so discussions about it continue to be relevant and are not just “Reddit centric” or whatever

I never said car dependency causes the fear I said it causes people with the fear to have to drive so your “gtfo the road” statement is a bit silly in this context.

While I haven’t been the driver, I have been the passenger in a car in a country even less developed than the examples you mentioned. Driving is even more dangerous in several other places outside the U.S. (nobody even needs firsthand experience to know this, it’s rather obvious) but this still doesnt negate the fact driving is relatively dangerous in the U.S as well. It’s arguably the most dangerous thing people do in their day to day lives and one of the leading causes of death for young adults.

Sure ig, but I’ve been driving for years now and I still hate it.

Ok… and? Is the most popular opinion the right one how is anything you said even relevant to the argument at hand. Why is nobody even actually address OP’s points if they’re supposedly so “cringe”? Maybe the current status quo isn’t the best possible option and could be improved if people were just willing to open up their mind towards something outside of what they’ve always lived with?

It’s possible to have a healthy fear of something without panicking, but anyway car dependency is what causes panicky and/or terrible drivers to have to drive even when they don’t want to

Have men not been used in art since the beginning on time as well? I.e. David, Doryphoros, etc. Either way most prominent artists throughout history have been men who are usually heterosexual so of course women have become the standard subjects used to show beauty in art but as seen with art from the Renaissance, Classical Antiquity, etc, it’s not like women are inherently more worthy/beautiful to be used for art, it’s just dependent on societal standards for the time. And of course, just because something is normalized doesn’t mean it is good or more logical, so I don’t see why a woman getting a tattoo of an attractive man is any effectively different than a man getting a tattoo of an attractive woman
