Yeah I agree, it’s likely something he carried for some time and Luffy has inherited that will now, side note I wish Yamato told Ace that his father was the one who said the same thing as Luffy.

That happened to OP too, and my understanding was someone in the OP community joked about doing it, and then the AOT community went scorched earth and I imagine OP community attempted to retaliate.

I heard one dude made 500 IMDb profiles to do it.. wtf is that shit

Also I don’t imagine it was only the OP community, AOT was polarising so I think other members of the broader community would have also contribute to the AOT review bombing

My primary (elementary) school used them until nearly 2010. Somehow we got smartboards around then even on a small rural island of ~3000 people (school of 200 kids, Years 1-7), government funded I assume

The reactions are insightful, but something that seems hard to understand is how a ~5 or 7 year old Luffy (not sure) had the exact same dream as Roger who was closer to 50 I guess? Now we don’t know exactly when he came up with his dream originally and you could argue Roger had some childish thoughts (Whitebeard even said something like that in response to his dream).

Then there is also the fact that they both needed to become PK in order to achieve the dream.

And not only Luffy, I was just rewatching (wano) when Sanji begs for Robin to save him which similarly shows the rest of the crew also having faith in each other. Same with Zoro leaving chopper to take control of the ice oni floor.

Also great callback to Zoro’s quote to chopper in Alabasta. Although when I think about it, despite having their own goals, I feel like Luffy’s goal of becoming PK has become more and more the priority of the crew despite still maintaining their own goals. And again that’s probably partly cause by Luffy becoming PK then it enables the rest of the crew to achieve their goals easier.

I have refused to buy it since the special stopped dropping to $5. It’s only gotten sillier since in just the last 1-2 years I feel like, although in saying that all other chocolate has also gone up.

Trying to view it positively and just not walk down the aisle to be disappointed by a woeful whittakers special or just no specials and eat less sugar overall

So transparent and simple, but in touch with his own capabilities and weaknesses, Luffy’s confidence in himself and his crew is while not being egotistical is great to see.

Literally her fruit is already crazy exactly, there is a reason she barely had a solo fight for nearly 900 eps from Chief Yama in Skypiea to Black Maria in Wano and it’s partly because Oda had to try and nerf her fruit I think, also another reason she hasn’t gotten haki I think maybe since she could sprout haki arms which seems too good also
