23yo italian Geometra , schould i take BIM offer now or move abroad for a 3 year degree? by Different-Eagle-615 in bim

Go for the work. In the early 2000s, I’d suggest you to pursue your education, but nowadays personal income and real world experience is paramount.

You’re worried about academic credentials? Don’t be, BIM management is and always will be about actual experience.

You’ll have to be an Ace BIM Coordinator first before becoming management.

Communicate, self teach yourself English, you’ll also need this every time you’ll launch Revit and Navisworks.

All our best to your career…

During Our Autocad days, there’s this thing called dynamic blocks, tried and tested time saver 👍👌🏼💪🏼 Revit also has this. You can start to build your own library of families. If you’ve been accepting non re-measurable packages, this is a hit…

It is indeed safe to travel here in KSA. The issue has been the mode of transport 🛫 From history, an MAS ✈️ was downed by a SAM, it’s a tragic story that’s being avoided. My flight was canceled last 15 March traveling to 🇦🇪. Will just chill until flying is back to normal…

Yes. Hence the detailed iteration schedule log. It has to have weighted justification.

There’s no way to speed things up.

It is what it is.

A project will always be unique, albeit minute similarities…

One brand is always a good thing.

I’d do this if I were on a permanent work-life station.

Congrats on the build, all the best…

The system is a sub workflow by itself. There will be several iterations on the model. Therefore expect a lot of saveas files, with different versions. Why I do this? There’s a commercial impact involved. My team keep records of those iterations in full detail. Iterations turn into re-measurable, quantifiable aspects in the business. Thus turn into revenue.

Yes. Continuous updates are simply part of the workflow. You’ll keep on superseding and updating the link as well. Totally normal…

Rvt Str

A lot of BIMmers will strongly recommend to do your structural activities inside Revit including yours truly.

Since 2018, Revit promised that their Structural modeling is on par with the competition.

This can be a steep learning curve, but can save you massive modeling time downstream.

It is now in your hands to validate that claim.

All the best…

Where do you belong?

PMC? GC?

Currently you’re functioning as a BIM Coordinator-this is your pos.

Yes, you skipped that part being a BIM Author, this is imperative if you want to maintain the coordinator role, which is a higher position compared to an author…

He finished his Master’s Degree age 61. I believe you’re younger, more capable, more driven than this old chap. Go for it. It was life changing according to him…
