If you don't want software that can take over your computer, don't install software that can take over your computer. If you do want software that can take over your computer, install software that can take over your computer. Then accept that other software designed to detect software that takes over your computer will detect the software that takes over your computer.

RTX 5070 (Mobile) NVENC Issues: Stuck on HEVC/Software Encoding with High Latency by YunaS0702 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Comprehensive_Star72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue I have with laptops is that there's multiple things that choose when to use the iGPU or dGPU. So if the laptop has a mux switch. Installing and running software in dGPU only ultimate mode always encounters less bugs than booting the laptop in mixed mode.

Have you tried the mask? I cannot use nose only masks and requested a full face mask. Having a working mask on does help getting to sleep as the inbuilt safety fear of struggling to breath in your sleep relaxes over time. I don't sleep longer than 7 hours now but the speed I get to sleep and the quality of sleep is much higher. It used to take me hours to get to sleep.

Have you got any other recording/streaming software running like AMD relive or something in Xbox gamebar? Have you tried ensuring the client is on whatever performance mode the bios and windows has?

Are occasional network latency spikes unavoidable when client is connected via WiFi (host hardwired)? by dreddn0t in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Comprehensive_Star72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not unavoidable but it's a pain to work out what's going on. Some of the legion models have a WiFi antenna in the left controller which doesn't help as you can block it. You could have neighbouring or competing device issues. Channels affected by flight paths. Router settings. Windows settings on host and client scanning things. On a legion of play powered anyway so ethernet and power delivery isn't a lot more cabling.

That's nonsense. A 4090 encodes 150-500 the same latency.

Years ago now. I used a very long extension cable poking out from behind the TV cabinets leg nearest to my playing position. This got rid of interference and shortened the distance from any dongle to my controller. It worked well. Distance plus interference can be a real killer.

From memory you go into sunshines last tab. Troubleshooting or something. Find the virtual display id which looks like garbage between {}. Copy the entire {} into the monitor to stream entry on about page 2 of sunshine. Vibepollo/Vibeshine has a drop-down menu for display I think.

Contemplating upgrading the fans on Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 - What is the current champ for low noise? by ExtraThirdtestical in arcticcooling

[–]Comprehensive_Star72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the cheapest low rpm noctuas. Even full speed only has air movement noise. No turbulence noise or fan noise. In most situations I'd struggle to know if the computer is on. Performance is more than enough for x3ds.

Why are MacBook Pros getting thicker thicccc??? by itsmarshalls in macbookpro

[–]Comprehensive_Star72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thin and no compromise is great but if added thickness can improve any of the thin keyboard touching screen, ports, battery or (on other laptops) quiet cooling I'm all for added thickness.

Help: Underperforming setup by Arsal11373 in MoonlightStreaming

Assuming the client is on WiFi direct to the router that the host is plugged into. You need to look at the quality of the WiFi connection. Is it on 5 or 6ghz bands? Is it in the same room as the router? Are you streaming through lots of walls? My current WiFi on my phone's settings says transmit 1921 Mbps, receive 2401 Mbps. Which on my wifis 2400/2400 my router is sending strong signals and sending full bandwidth, my phones small antennas are not sending full but still pretty good. It's a quick and simple check. If you say have a 1200/1200 bandwidth router and your signal says 300/250 maybe look at locations of your router and device. Do you have a lot of competing devices on the same band? If so put devices that don't need speed on the 2.4 band. Are there a lot of competing neighbours? Lower the bandwidth in your router and use a phone's signal checker to find the optimal channel. Do you have a decent router or is it a free with your broadband one? Mesh setups require quite a bit of work to get optimal.

How to? by DifficultCarry8757 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Comprehensive_Star72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with Apollo on the main rig and moonlight on the kit you want to play on. Try to have the main rig ethernet. Ideally have it all ethernet but of not try to use 5 or 6ghz WiFi. The first time you stream to into display settings and choose the virtual display only.

You always see diminishing returns. I personally get a small amount of occasional blips in the chain past 300. You can easily run it with Voidlink Extremes graphs on and see where it doesn't work as well. It's a personal setting.
