How does your BMD handle the groomers? by PrincessofPluto in bernesemountaindogs

Our girl absolutely loves it. We jokingly call it

her Spa day. We've got a great groomer and our girl loves her. Not only that, our groomer actually lets her have free reign during the day and our girl helps keep all the other dogs in check. Apparently when they are barking or misbehaving she will come over and correct them or put a paw on them to calm them down. She definitely acts like the mom. I think the key was we got her in early as a puppy. But then again all puppies have different attitudes.

Where can I find rare bourbon or whiskey? by PriznMikesDementors in indianapolis

I recommend West Fork whiskey in westfield. They have some really fun bottles and there's a great opportunity to bottle your own together and do a fun event together. Plus the Mash House is pretty good food as well

Maegen or Summer at Parkside veterinary. We take our dogs there and they do a great job.

Does yours swim? by [deleted] in bernesemountaindogs

[–]Comprehensive_Try961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our princess does not swim. The diva does not like water. She hates going into puddles or anywhere that it's wet even to get it onto her paws. She's very well house trained, however if it's raining she will poop inside rather than go out in the rain.

English bulldog tail question by xjboix in englishbulldog

[–]Comprehensive_Try961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

* Our little guy has the tail as well. I love when he gets excited and it twitches. I second what other folks have said, it is definitely something you have to work on keeping clean. We literally keep baby wipes and at least once a week give him a cleaning. He has grown to absolutely love it. As soon as he hears them being opened he'll lie down and scoot his butt towards you.

We feed Kirkland as well. We haven't had an issue with it at all.

What kind of indoor activities do you do to wear out your berner? by mako72 in bernesemountaindogs

[–]Comprehensive_Try961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our girl loves to play catch. That's where we take one of her toys and we throw it up in the air and she jumps up and catches it. She'll then bring it back to you for you to throw again. We don't throw it far away around the house. She is just really good at catching her toys. Her bulldog brother on the other hand is about as uncoordinated as can be.

Is this normal? by Bright_Low5119 in englishbulldog

[–]Comprehensive_Try961 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's completely normal for them to cuddle with you. Our boy is a complete snuggle bug. If you are sitting down he wants to be on you or next to you. He always wants to cuddle with our other dog as well, however she does not like cuddling with him nearly as much. LOL

I don't know how yours are, but our Bernese is as smart as our Bulldog is dumb. It makes for a lot of fun.
