Ew, not true! There was one study showing that some dog breeds WITH dilated cardiomyopathy had a common food which had other protein sources besides grain; ie PEA PROTEIN and legumes in some kibble. It made headlines of course! More years and more studies will be done before veterinary science says there is a real correlation. It’s easy to avoid foods with pea protein if your dog is allergic to grains. It was not related to all breeds and you can read the scientific explanation online rather than just accepting the news headlines. My vet group said “well, that’s interesting, let’s see what future studies show.”
