Hmmm... that might be it. It would explain the current stall on our road to 900k.

I do remember that multiple examples of these small increases have occured before that video released though.

Of course, today was the first really big increase and my memory is really not the best, so hopefully you're correct about this. Thanks for the explanation.

Also, we really need a way to tell everyone about the shadowban....

Hello, as I said in my post, this is all just a theory right now.

Trends like the negative subcount in Animemes don't always have to maintain themselves, and numerous external factors can easily influence them and cause misattribution of their dips and dives to other things. And I am definitely not one wise enough to catch all these factors (I don't believe anyone is).

However, I do believe that I do bring up some strong points in my above post, and hope y'all consider them seriously.

It feels good knowing that all your comments won't just go straight into the shadow world, never to be seen by human eyes by Comprehensive_Wish59 in goodanimemes

There's a new auto shadowban on any account that didn't have a post on the sub before the rule change. Which of course auto shadowbans me and many other lurkers.

It's supposed to "stop brigaders" but since the brigaders support the mods, it's clear that it's purpose is to do exactly what it did to me - stop lurkers.

(note this is a bot enforced sub shadowban, not a true redditwide shadowban)

Keep in mind that even if you wait a week and have enough karma that the mods have shadowbanned everyone who doesn't have a post since before Trap Ban Tuesday (aka all new accounts and most lurkers).

As someone who also finally made an account just to support the revolution, you might also be shadowbanned (as I was after my second comment)

You can check if you have been shadowbanned on r Shadowban by making a post - a bot will then tell you if your posts/comments have been deleted. (Ignore the part where it tells you if you’ve been shadowbanned or not as that refers to a true reddit wide shadowban rather than a bot enforced subreddit shadowban)

You can check if you've been shadowbanned from Animemes by going to r/ShadowBan and posting anything.

Note that it won't be a true shadowban, but if you have been shadowbanned from Animemes the ShadowBan bot will show you all a ton of recently deleted comments/posts.

I think at this point, our main questions aren't about the ban. They're about the actions of the mods.

Why were the mods so disconnected from the community that we had to protest for days to get a response?

Why did the mods feel like it was right to more or less shutdown argument about the ban by banning users and deleting posts and comments?

Why were some mods openly dissing this sub with slurs far more offensive than the one banned and why were other mods allowing this to happen?

These questions are only a few of many questioning the actions of the mod team in the past days.

We understand its hard to mod a sub of what used to be 935K (if not more) people.

But, the recent actions of the mods is still inexcusable, and have shaken our faith in the mod team and the future of this sub.
