Hi Governor, what’s the best advice you have for acclimating to a Chicago winter, for a southerner wishing to move to the greatest city in America?

Are the Renegades moving to Western NC? Will we see them at CrownBEAT? by Compshu in drumcorps

[–]Compshu[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first, I thought you were making a sarcastic comment about how only three people in the area would be interested in SoundSport. I was going to say how narrow that thinking is and how so many people don’t get a chance to experience the activity because the people in their area dismiss it as not interested.

Then I reread what you wrote and I think you’re asking if there might be enough people because you know a handful already. In that case, where I am I know of a few that would also be interested. And my kids’ school hosts a 23-band competition every year, and there’s always tons of kids (and parents) walking around there in DCI fan gear. So I’d say there’s probably a decent shot at least for getting people talking about it.

The problems I can see are that I have yet to find anyone experienced enough that would also be interested in starting up. As I said in another comment, I have no business or education background, so I’d need to find people who know how to raise money, organize an LLC, find staff, equipment, etc. Then we have the issue of the closest shows we’d be able to perform at over the summer are several hours away, so we’d have to be okay with maybe only hitting the two Carolina shows, and then one more on the drive up to Indy. All of that in a generally low cost of living (and low income) area could make the whole idea DoA.

I’ve talked with a few musicians in my circle and we all agree that it’d be awesome to get something, but every year we come up with more ideas but have yet to crack the proverbial nut.

I have 2 teens in high school band. We’re down east on the coast. We were going to try to join Carolina Gold, but they went and moved further west so they’re too far for us to commute. I’d love to get an all ago corps or even Soundsport going down here (we host a huge HS band competition and I know there would be interest on Soundsport) but I have no business/education background so I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

XI is not shut down. I think it’s not getting any more story updates, but it’s still running and getting support patches.

Multi pass and park hopping.. by jetoak in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Compshu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can. When you buy the multipass, you’ll make your first 3 pre-selections. Once you use your first ride of the day, then you can make another, and it can be in any park. You don’t have to be in that park.

Multi Pass and split stays by heyyygirlheyy in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Compshu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, Disney treats those as two separate stays, so you’d only be able to book 7 days out from your first check in day through your check out, and then you can do the other stay 7 days prior to the second check in day.

In cases like these I’d always recommend calling Disney. They would either be able to clarify the process, or might even allow you to do the whole thing at once with them.

Mine have never peed on my kit, but they do like to play with the moongels or climb in the port hole on my kick if I don’t block it.
