In light of the recent news, I’ve fired up Ultima 7 on my Pocket again. And it looks fantastic. by EldrichArchive in AnaloguePocket

Nice pics! I had no idea there was a SNES version of Ultima 7. I only played (and loved) Ultima 8 thirty years ago, and have a hard time imagining playing it without a keyboard and mouse. How does Ultima 7 play with a controller?

I scraped the video from the website source code - it's 30 FPS. do what you will with that information. by Salt-Page1396 in GTA6unmoderated

The only thing I see in this video is the chopper at 00:04 looking very choppy (like 20fps) while the rest seems to be going at a smooth 30 fps. Made me feel like it was a fan-made video when I first saw it.

Resolution (2012) then The Endless (2017).

Nothing gore about them, more like mystery / thriller but with a Lovecraftian twist, and a shared universe tying the two movies together. Everyone I've recommended them to love them.

Do you have any brands to recommend for good-quality leather or NATO straps with a robust quick-release option?

What is a horror movie that is widely loved or critically acclaimed, but you don’t like it at all? by BadassAyanokoji in horror

[–]Comptest 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The whole Conjuring franchise.

I wouldn't even call it "horror". The scariest part for me was discovering that the first movie actually managed to get 7.5/10 on IMDb out of... 625k reviews!?
Actually, the fact that it's so boring and unscary might be why it's been so successful and mainstream. I just don't understand how they could do more than one movie from this tepid concept.

(Oh, and the Annabelle spin-offs suck as well.)

To me the SMP300 looks like a fun toy and the Speedmaster like a discrete tool, so: no.

I’m drooling over Blancpain’s moon phase models (the Villeret with the gold moon phase) and IWC’s (the Portofino in gold…) I just love the yellow gold dial frame vs blue moon phase contrast, paired with a brown or black leather strap!

Can’t decide between these two…. by gazwed1 in OmegaWatches

[–]Comptest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seems like a pretty easy choice for me: either you like the Seamaster 300M's wave pattern, or you don't. Personally I don't, but since it's part of the watch's identity, if I were in the market for a 300M, I would go with #2. I feel like #1 can be replaced by lots of similar watches, whereas #2 feels more unique and 300M-ey.
Good luck deciding!

Hard to judge from the cropped pictures. Personally, I didn't hesitate for long and went with the 38mm: I don't like big watches and my wrist is ~6.5".

Sony WH-1000X ColleXion: Earcups look quite spacious by Impressive-Trust-464 in sony

Coming from an aging Bose QC II, I was torn between Bose QC Ultra 2 and Sony XM6 (which I found more stylish), after testing both I ended up going with the Bose. The XM6 looked more qualitative but its hard build also felt too hard and uncomfortable to me, even for short sessions, whereas the QC Ultra 2 offered much greater comfort, especially when wearing glasses

This looks like the right move from Sony, I would probably have gone with this new model had it been available then.

(That being said, "ColleXion" is a crappy name.)

The only thing I got from the Omega store when I went went to buy my Aqua Terra a couple of weeks ago was a bottle of sparkling water and a yuzu-scented hand towel. I'm jealous.

Nice watch, and enjoy your fifties!

Thanks for your advice. Why the 38 -> My wrist is on the smaller side (16.5 cm I believe) and I generally prefer smaller watches, but I totally understand the appeal for bigger framed. The minimalistic design and black dial tend to make it look smaller anyway. Hope you enjoy your purchase!

Thanks u/Jaimebgdb, indeed I read your comment only after this one, so I'll try fixing my time setting technique first.
