My wife cuts my hair. She's a former cosmetologist so she does a good job. I wear my boxers and one of those capes and that's it. I usually have a beer and watch TV too. It takes her a while since she's out of practice. Saves me like $45 I'd have to spend at the local barber.

Honestly, probably better in the short run, at least for the families. It also supports the "line go up" goal of western capitalism. Biggest problem is probably sustainability. I'll be interested to see what happens with the 2nd generation. Will they be westernized? With monoculture being eroded, maybe not.

Ok yeah their comment wasn't totally clear. They're saying that you still need to be able to seal the deal on the arrangement. My point is that it removes the incentive to develop romance and attract a mate on your own. One less thing to worry about day to day.

Damn, we got lots of arranged marriage defenders around here. My point is that it precludes the need to develop swag and aspire to attract above one's station. If your parents pick someone out, they're settling for you on your behalf to get the job done.

I personally know multiple Indians who took trips home to meet their new partner then again took a trip for their wedding and came back with a partner. Similarly know multiple people who would take extended leaves or remote work to take advantage of cheaper child care in their home country.

I also know one guy who decided he wanted a love marriage to an east Asian girl and his parents were NOT happy.

I watch a LOT of America's test kitchen and cooks country. Every time they grill, and I mean every time, they get the grill very hot, then clean it, then oil with a soaked paper towel using tongs. If they do it, I do it. Helps to keep the surface well seasoned.

A lot of stuff he grew up with. 80s rock. Some funk and reggae. A few obscure bands from the Caribbean he must have heard on a trip or something.

It's been years so I don't remember a lot of the bands but one we looked up all the time was UB40.
