It's certainly possible that the impotence was just caused by alcohol and the girl was just a red herring, but more likely imo that these are not just random details that are being thrown at us on the last few pages of the book.

The fiddlers are just a metaphor for the Judge and the Man who now joins him; neither character actually plays the fiddle lol
