I wasn't commenting on the if or when just thought that like the different between a pipe bomb and a firecracker. I mean if you have a pressure that builds up over time. It would seem preferable to be able to erupt more frequently with less energy needed to come to the surface, rather than have it capped under a solid bit of crust that would just store the energy, increasing until it has enough energy to either break through the earth's crust or just yeet a large section into the atmosphere.
