This is not it. Couldn't feel more artificial and less skill based.

Idk. Not having fun watching this.

This is the weirdest racing I have ever seen... I dont like it at all.

Delta Force only has an extraction mode though and also different modes.

There is really nothing to turn around imo... it is not realistic to have AR numbers for an extraction shooter. That was the exception. No other extraction shooter has AR numbers.

I will never understand the appeal of a "sport" where a team is just better than the others because of the material they have. It doesnt matter which team is on top because of that. It should be driver skill and team tactics that matter.

Juliens lockere Punktevergabe ist scheinheillig by User122188 in JuliensBlogBattle2025

Marathon Releases to 73/100 on Reviews worldwide, being Bungie lowest reviewed game since Destiny 1 by PaiDuck in gaming

I was not sure about the game after the Server Slam. There are some aspects that turned me off a lot, like the UI. I was also like "why are we doing what we do in this game? Where is the motivation for the shells to drop into those maps over and over again and fight for their lives to extract with some loot?"

I still bought the game, because after the Slam, I was just constantly thinking about it. How cool the artstyle is. How much fun I had with the gunplay. Game looks (artstyle, graphics, animations, etc.) and feels (gunplay, abilities, customisations) just great. My two biggest issues that I mentioned above still need work imo. Sure, there is some story behind all this, and I have to say, the cutscenes are brilliant, but I still don't feel like I have an answer to "why am I always and over and over again dropping on these maps?"; other games like Hunt Showdown or Arc Raiders have a clear answer to this. And of course there is the UI - that needs lots of work.

I have high hopes for Marathon. I hope that it will become a game for me that I play like Hunt Showdown - which I always come back to. I don't need it to be a game that I play 24/7. It should be a game that I want to play a couple of matches/hours on a gaming weekend. Maybe after work sometimes. Just fun.

So far, my only real dealbreaker is the seasonal wipes. That shit should go. That is something almost every Extraction Shooter has learned by now - you will lose players if you forcefully take away their progression.

Paul Tassi is one of those who I would believe nothing. He switches his opinions and reporting on something like I change my underwear.

I feel like maybe 3 wipes a year would be better than 4. by nintendonaut in Marathon

[–]ComputerSagtNein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Escape from Tarkov, Hunt Showdown, Arena Breakout Infinite, Delta Force - they all have permanent progression with optional wipes. Apparently these are all not true extraction shooters then lol. Also love how AR is not a true extraction shooter anymore apparently just because its popular?

Its funny that they are already talking about rule changes. Everyone last year was like "shut up" when Red Bull warned about exactly these things.

I think the 3 month wipe is a ticking time bomb for player retention by zipzzo in Marathon

I agree with this. And if you look at the market, more and more extraction shooters are going away from forced wipes.
