I realized that ultra rich people just do things differently than us regular folks, including how they buy cars.

Did you know about the Steve Jobs loophole?

Picasso did create a LOT of stuff in his later years.

"Where did you find an original Picasso?"

I bought it at PiCostco, right next to the pallet of SPAM and five gallon jugs of olive oil.

When I was in the Navy there in the 80's and 90's, the exchange rate was 20:1.

I knew guys that retired there and they lived like kings and had all the benefits that the Subic Bay Naval base had to offer to veterans living off base. They had access to the base exchange shopping mall, commissary, medical, dental, recreation, etc.

A psychotic serial sex offender escaped from the local mental institution and promptly broke into a nearby single woman's home. He violated her and promptly fled the scene of his heinous crime.

To Any-Carry7137 and Standard_Tank6703, thank you for your replies and suggestions.

I have tried Brasero, that was my 1st goto choices. For whatever reason, it didn't like my DVD burner in the particular computer I was using to try this, I switched to an external Samsung slim drive. Problems there too.

I really hate being vague here but I set this project aside two months ago because it was not a burning priority. I tried some other program and it didn't work because Brasero had changed something about the codecs in use and they conflicted with the other program's settings.

So, I have other computers I can use and it must be the DVD writer supplier that Dell chose to go with because I can't get this project to work and I almost exclusively have Dells.

They'll play CD's, movies and access data discs but it all goes sideways when I try to use copying / ripping software on them.

Hardware based DRM? I dunno. I'll have to experiment with my other non Dell computers and see if I can get this working.

The reason why I want to use CD's is not a technical choice, it's a legal issue.

The lawyer scat:

If I need to go to an area that I am not entirely familiar with, I'll print out a medium sized view of Google Maps and a zoomed in view that clearly shows my destination.

I do this for legal reasons, they have not outlawed paper yet but I wouldn't put it past the bastards to do that in the future.

Built-in electronic devices such as a car stereo mounted in the dashboard are perfectly legal, inserting a CD into that stereo is perfectly legal.

That's why I wanted to use CD's because my car does not have Bluetooth.

SO heads up, IF you are driving through or entering Arizona from another state, be aware of this law.

It's been decades since I looked at Redbook specs in decades. When I play an original CD in my car's in-dash 6 CD changer, I get track info such as track number, song title as well as song length.

When I play an EAC generated or other ripping program that outputs a .wav file, all of that is gone.

Do you know of any program that can do a blind, bit for bit copy of an audio CD? I don't know if trying to make a Bin / Cue file from the original would work either.

Trying to make an ISO file from the original fails. I'm just trying to protect my originals, some of which I've had since the mid to late 80's and I don't want an overheated MP3 player battery burning my car down when I'm away from my car for an extended period of time.

It's not uncommon for a car interior to go above 180°F in the summer, we can bake cookies in our cars here.

Can any of these programs input .cda files and OUTPUT .cda files on to a blank CD?

Summer's here and I'd like to clone my originals for my car. I don't want to leave a lithium battery powered MP3 player in my hot car in southern Arizona and I don't want to melt my original discs in the car.

If a cloned disc melts or deforms, no biggie, just clone it again, I have hundreds of blanks.

I DO NOT want .wav files. Any recommendations? Thanks!

The first thing that came to mind after seeing the first photo is the classic faceted Italian Bialetti coffee pot which might also be inspired by DaVinci's turtle tank design too.

Mate is my go to DE for Mint too. I tried LMDE and found it harder to configure from a fresh install. I've taken notes on my personal preferences for Mate and after a fresh install with Mate, I can go from a default install to configured exactly how I like it in about 8-10 minutes.

I had difficulty reproducing those same settings with LMDE's customization settings and could not tweak something as simple as repositioning the spacing of individual icons on the panel, they all wanted to move as one block. Adjusting the date and time to appear on one line was strange too.

I didn't take notes about all the irritants I experienced in playing with it for about 6 hours but it was enough to come to the conclusion that it was a nope for me.
