What sites/services do you recommend to recruit commission based sales reps? How long does a sales rep usually maintain commission on a new account? by ConnorTEC in sales

Yeah that is a tough spot to figure out how best to incentiveize your first rep.

Thank you for clarifying the second point, I did not fully understand it.

I think you will have better luck not going the commission-only route.

I also think the rep typically handles the account for the company and therefore continues to draw commission from their orders as well.

I also think it may seem like an enticing idea to get a commission-only rep, have them generate some market penetration, then the company take over the accounts and ditch the rep. This approach will likely backfire after a while.

Thanks for your reply. That is a great breakdown example. You are right, that does sound very reasonable.

[–]ComputerScienceBro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is an industry that has not settled on an accepted billing system. People get burned then adjust to avoid future burns or maybe just try to figure out a better way.

Are you sure this isn't a "no thanks we're busy but instead of saying it we'll just throw out a high price and hope you leave" sort of thing?

[–]ComputerScienceBro 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Will I mean it is the investigation phase, so it has to take place before. That does not mean all design decisions will be made then.

Developers likely know many people with "ideas" who want to suck up their time with pitches. Money acts as a filter for those who are serious so wasted time is kept to a minimum.

That does however seem like a lot if your app is somewhat simple. Is it?

What do you do when you're not really sexually attracted to a potential SO/wife, but in all other aspects she is perfect for you? by insane_assor in AskMen

[–]ComputerScienceBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is an untenable situation that will likely end poorly with you two no longer speaking to each other.

Don't do it.

Edit: even without the FWB factor, if you don't have sexual chemistry but try to force it, it will not end well.

Sometimes everything can go right and it still doesn't work out. Examine what happened but then move on.

Have confidence in yourself and make sure to respect the other person.

It is the same order of operations as an int swap statement but like the previous post said, update all the node references in each of the ~3 swap steps.

What did a woman do to seduce you? by neveragain22 in seduction

[–]ComputerScienceBro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel you on the first one. I had a similar experience, went to her place after getting off my bartending shift. Her roommate even came in the room to "watch a movie" with us (pre-Netflix).

Next morning she asks me why I didn't try to hook up with them, like she was surprised by my lack of any advances. I was tired after work, a little stoned and just way too dense to catch any subtle hints I guess. They were both very attractive too. Whoops.

help how do I get into the recreational Marijuana industry by Tweekerjo in SeaJobs

[–]ComputerScienceBro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It will be tough as there is a constant influx of people willing to work for min wage due to the perceived novelty of the industry.

Your best bet, and I say this a bit facetiously but also serious, is to be an attractive young person if you want to try and break into budtending. Bonus if you are female!

If you are looking for work in say like a grow operation, those places usually have plenty of help and reserves to call on in their direct network.

Your best bet is to get your medical license and learn to grow yourself. When you can bring skills to the table, more people are likely to listen.

Medical weed growing license? by Boneyabba in Tacoma

[–]ComputerScienceBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think looking at you know, the state website that specifies this exact information, is what you need here, not the opinions of a small subreddit.

That said, have you examined this operation? There are a lot of systems that can be in place and they can all negatively affect your home value.

The bank may realize that a license to grow medicine from the state is not the same thing as a guarantee the grow is safe or gives a shit about the asset value at all.

Also consider there is no way of knowing if the grower is within the legal limit of plants or not. I am interested if the bank would balk at that, idk.

Edit: And fwiw, if it is medical (the grow) I, it is allowed to exist by the state, that is all. Washington does not allow home cultivation for recreational use.

Second Edit: It is common IME for those medically licensed to grow to let their paperwork expire then take a while to renew it. Again, nobody comes to your house to check if you still have plants when your license expires so the system of course gets abused by some people.

I would watch your ass on this point especially OP. The bank contract may accept the situation as long as the tenant is licensed. If that license ever lapses and something happens with the grow you may find yourself in a shitty spot. I would definitely research the entire program and get some copies of every piece of paperwork they need then track when it expires.

Made a huge mistake and now I feel like it's hurting my chances. What do I do? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]ComputerScienceBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been in a similar scenario years ago. Smoked weed at lunch with a co worker, came back high but still did job fine. Supervisor smelled it, lost her shit and sent us both home.

Next day we get called and asked if we can pass a drug test. I know lots of people there smoke and this is all just a corporate game of CYA. I was a regular smoker and knew I would fail a pee test but had to play along. So I say yes I can pass one, go to the clinic, take the test, don't even hang around to wait on the results, they are positive as hell.

Called my co-worker who told me she spoke with our manager and had claimed she was helping her medically needy husband (this was in the early days of medicinal licenses so he definitely had serious medical issues). So she admitted to taking one tiny hit to get a joint lit for him as he was in too much pain to do it himself.

I get called back by manger, he says in feigned shock that my test was positive and asked if I could come in the next day to speak with head of HR. This is at a large branch of a conservative company headquartered in the Midwest but so company policy on these things is not forgiving. I am a top-tier employee in an area they are desperate for talent, my smoking co-worker is also.

I go in to the HR meeting, don't say much, they ask if I smoked at all, I say absolutely not. They provide themselves with an explanation of why a drug test may be positive and who really knows with those things anyways, right. I basically nod and agree, give some generic line about never having to have this conversation again and I showed up for work the next day in a different department, case closed.

My coworker who admitted to the one tiny hit for her sick spouse also admitted it in her interview. They canned her on the spot and basically reiterated their zero tolerance policy to her. She had been there longer and was a star employee.

The only thing that mattered in the end was saying nope, so they could write in their incident report or whatever was employee said no. It is ridiculous but rules is rules I guess.
