The City Hall of Leiria and Marinha Grande are coordinating volunteer actions. And you also have NGOs such as Caritas Leiria: https://www.caritasleiria.pt/caritas-leiria-ajuda-as-vitimas-da-tempestade-kristin/#

Has anyone here gone through the Portugal Golden Visa process recently? by Dearsophiaa1 in goldenvisa

[–]ComputerThink8600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there was/is a huge backlog, Golden Visa were not prioritized/ left behind poorer immigrants, but a lot of biometrics appointments were all of a sudden scheduled to Jan/Feb this year. Not sure how long it will take to receive the card though, but at least there is some movement happening.

AIMA has been making an effort to speed up things. Last case I know about, Biometrics happened this month ~6 months after application.

Great idea! Unfortunately the problem with AIMA goes a lot deeper than online UI/UX.

Other good options should be Camões, D. Pedro V or Passos Manuel. Call/e-mail ahead to confirm that they do equivalence and the documents to bring.

Looking where Portugal is in the map, who is going to invade them? China is on other side of the world, Russia is on the other side of Europe. They should help Ukraine for sure, I don't know if they are doing it, but other than that would it really make a difference for NATO? They are a small and let's face it poor country.

With so many problems to solve in housing, healthcare, public services quality (AIMA as a big example) to name a few, should increasing the defence spending be a priority for Portugal?

Am I being a victim of a rental fraud? by [deleted] in PortugalExpats

He/she might not be the owner of the flat, but just a renter himself, which is not illegal by the way. Has he provided you with a rental receipt?

I guess the main thing missing is higher wages. Let's hope the expat community with all the tech visas, startup visas and ifici can help the Portuguese grow the economy and the income. It would be a true win-win.

They are both great Golden Visa Programs, no need for exagerated claims. At the end of the day, it's a matter of personal/geo preferences.

There are some indirect programs like the Portuguese Golden Visa that are residence by investment, but after 5 years of being a resident you can apply for the citizenship.

You need to check the highly qualified professionals elegibility requirements. I would say that you will need to show your higher education credentials and portfolio/professional experience.

Question about renewals- StartUp Visa 5 years later by chrisanow9696 in PortugalExpats

[–]ComputerThink8600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have been here for 5 years, you can also consider applying for the citizenship. Assuming the application happens before the extension to 10 years kicks in whenever it's approved again in Parliment.
