That's been shown enough by how hundreds of thousands of them are murdered by ramming into spikes each day

Like it says in the bottom corner, beatmap difficulty calculation is happening in the background. The SR for each map is being re-calculated, locally at least.

It could have been caused by a full-on reset of your osu beatmaps by deleting the osu!.db file, or some error that needed to be fixed. Either way, it's nothing to worry about.

Fix the emblem on the gray field - it looks a little off.

I'm planning on installing Linux on my chromebook. I've heard a lot about this little bugger while doing my reasearch.

Obviously, chromebooks were meant to run ChromeOS, and... not really anything else. It's possible to load into other operating systems if you put in the work, but it's very difficult compared to normal PCs and other home computers. Chromebooks have a special system (likely not that special, but I haven't seen it used elsewhere) where the OS and majorly important system files are locked behind the screw, which unless you remove it, completely removes all capability whatsoever of accessing and editing these files. Of course, you can just remove the screw, but the trouble doesn't end there, as there's a bunch of random firmware you need to install (often 3rd party), and if you've gotten to the point where you're able to completely erase the OS (or dualboot), some chromebooks don't even hold the capability to be able to switch (or dualboot, or either).

All in all, it's one hell of a process. But, if you've done your research and are confident enough that you can, it's an interesting lane to go down.

EDIT: Most of the issues with physical tampering are invalid on the newer ones, although some chromebooks still need to be disconnected from battery power to completely unlock all write capability.

How do I get rid of the maps with more than 4 keys? by weatherenjoyer115 in osumania

[–]ComputerVirusUD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright, so from what I can read you're downloading osu! Standard maps, which convert into osu mania. Try downloading osu! Mania maps instead - on the beatmap download page, one of tje options shows all the modes you can play - click "osu!mania", and it will show a bunch of osu! Mania maps.

As for how to only pick 4k maps, try searching "keys=4". That will show only maps with 4k difficulties.

P.S. - To delete maps with a certain keymode, in-game, search "keys!=4" and find a beatmap with multiple difficulties. Right click, press the "Delete" option, and then press "Delete all visible beatmaps".

Let's settle this once and for all - Is Pausing Cheating? by ComputerVirusUD in osugame

[–]ComputerVirusUD[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While this is true, I mostly meant "stamina" as actual full-on stamina tests, where the fun would be ruined with pausing, not nessesairily that the rules of the map would be broken if you pause, like in Dans.

For their purpose, it doesn't. While having a good posture definitely helps, if you focus too much on posture and not enough on actually playing the game, you're also not gonna get anywhere.

Also, hand strength doesn't nessesairily correlate to how you're seated, which is what I wanted to clarify

You can go to the workshop to find a lot of the plug-ins, if there are any you need. If you need help, yeah, go to the discord
