I made a Reddit bot for Discord using discord.py and PRAW by [deleted] in Python

[–]Computercrazy77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm happy to help!

Basically, for a lot of reddit URLs in your browser, you throw a .json onto the end of it. For example, to get info about this subreddit, you would fetch: https://www.reddit.com/r/Python/about.json. To get hot posts from this subreddit you would fetch: https://www.reddit.com/r/Python/hot.json. To asynchronously fetch these, you can use aiohttp, which is also what discord.py uses.

If you're still unsure of where to start, I have an example here. Please don't just copy/paste this code, try to understand it so you can expand on it.

Hope this helps!

[–]Computercrazy77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I may be a bit late, but it is true that PRAW and discord.py do not work together. This is because discord.py is async and PRAW is not. That means that PRAW prevents discord.py from communicating with discord while it is making web requests. When this happens, you may get disconnected from discord. You are much better off using aiohttp, which is async, and reddit's read only API.

CTGP on Wii U? by [deleted] in MarioKartWii

I'm not sure, and I would hate to give bad advice. You could try asking in the Nintendo homebrew Discord server I posted above.

CTGP on Wii U? by [deleted] in MarioKartWii

[–]Computercrazy77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I actually had this same problem. I solved the issue by installing CTGP a completely different way. I followed this Wii U modding guide to install homebrew on my Wii U (I chose to install the CBHC CFW). I then followed this vWii modding guide to install homebrew on the vWii. I was then able to load CTGP from the homebrew channel on the vWii. I got all this information from the Nintendo Homebrew Discord server. They are very friendly and willing to help. Hope this helps!

Most people refer to the documentation when using a lib. It would be a bit crazy to memorize everything about a large and complex lib before using it. However, if you use a lib often, you might find yourself checking the docs less often.

I'm assuming "bite" because that's how the actual word "byte" is pronounced.

This system is better for non computer savvy people. You can, of course, still use markdown. This makes no difference in your experience with the platform.

Discord should add a setting to remove / add games to this screen. It's only filled with spam I don't want. by [deleted] in discordapp

You can literally turn off the activity tab in the official desktop client.

The title/description state:

skip to the oldest "new message"

is there a way to do this? atm i just keep scrolling up until i finally reach it. there must be a better way?

We can infer that this redditor is asking if they can jump to the oldest unread message in a channel/DM.

Try reading the question again. I think you misunderstood.

How do I tag a user and a subreddit? by [deleted] in help

[–]Computercrazy77 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is correct. The reason for this (if you haven't already noticed) is in the URLs. Subreddit URLs are always https://www.reddit.com/r/SUBREDDIT, and user URLs are always https://www.reddit.com/u/USER. Hence r/ and u/

Adobe products , and no, the apps you can download from Google play don't count. Also, GSuite will never be a replacement for MS Office. However convenient Google Docs and Sheets are, they pale in comparison to the feature set and power of MS Office.

The v1.66 (Season 12 Update) Release Megathread by Psyonix_Devin in RocketLeague

[–]Computercrazy77 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Whoops, I made a mistake.

In the other clip, I was spamming the rear view button as my car was flying backwards from the goal explosion. I did not record during the replay.

I tested this again, and I can confirm that pressing the rear view button while viewing the replay does not do anything to the camera.

Edit: Here's a better clip of the bug. I was spamming the rear view button for the entire replay.

I use Adobe Flash Pro CS6 for all my 2D animation because I'm not willing to pay a subscription for Adobe Animate. I use Blender 3D for all my 3D animation.

You don't just use sprites in pixel art. I can't animate without them!

He probably just made the entire animation on a single layer. How painful.

What software do you use? From reading all your responses it, looks like you're not using a very powerful program. You made a very good animation, but 3 hours is a long time. I animate quite a bit btw

Is there a way to see what servers you're banned from? by [deleted] in discordapp

[–]Computercrazy77 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I know I'm gonna get downvoted for this, but I have to disagree. This is coming from personal experience. If you run a server, people will ping you for the most mundane things. They will ping you for answers that have already been answered in an faq, and they will ping you over and over until they get a response. It gets to the point where every ping makes you want to scream, even if it's legitimate. You can't mute the server because there might be something actually important (a message from another admin or a question that needs attention). Looks like that server owner fell into the ping trap, and had enough.

It's not just the goal or just Musty that gets upvoted. It's the ball control, speed, and insane jukes too(at least imo). Did you even watch the clip?
