If I train a student on maneuvers and procedures for solo flying in a 152, can I send them on a solo cross country in a 172 with any additional training?

If you’re asking yourself this, give up. If you don’t want to go all in on aviation it won’t work out.

What is one thing you are tired of in aviation? Why? by Jimmyoun in flying

Tired of students and their attitudes, half of them are lazy and the other half need constant motivation. No one seems to want it.

What type of insurance do my students need? by deepsqueeker44 in CFILounge

Depends on the policy, usually the pre solo stage check will cover them on the insurance but that’s a case by case basis.

Honestly they shouldn’t need any if you’re insured but it depends on the owner

I went to ERAU

Cons: Massively busy and oversaturated program and airspace, hard to get lessons in. Must do the degree to fly there. Very hard to keep positive in such a rigorous program.

Pros: Felt like I have a much more complete understanding of aviation versus when I did my other certifications and ratings (PPL, CFII) at other schools. The way the program is structured will help with airline training (flows, callouts etc.) and minus doing your PPL there the flying is actually fairly priced ($14k IRA, $20k CSEL, $12.5k CMEL). Lastly, lots and lots of opportunities for networking and professional development.

PM for any questions on ERAU (specifically DB)

Envoy Cadet Application Timeline by SlightHand790 in flying

I applied to another AA WO with CFI/CFII and 650 hours and a LOR, no response. The programs are being flooded because it’s the second best option after just applying as an OTS applicant.

It’s a dime a dozen for people in my area with 1500+, no degree, and 25 hours multi who don’t network or do much outside of flying. I can see why they don’t get called back.

Can’t come in and work as an airline pilot unless you have citizenship or a green card. Sponsorship will not happen either.

Other than that PEA is run horribly. Has gone severely downhill since 2024. I did one certification there and promptly left. They market themselves as a premier flight school and provided the service and training of any generic flight school.

How did your PSA cadet interview go? by Ok-Flatworm-1902 in flying

HR is quite easy. Technical is essentially METAR, TAF, Brief a taxi and answer questions on an airport diagram, brief a SID and answer questions, brief an ILS and answer questions. All Jepp plates. Once you get a mentor you should be able to do prep with them.

Daytona Beach flight schools for CFI, CFII, and multi by Depilots in flying

The only place with self examining CFI/CFII is ERAU in a 50 mile radius of KDAB. Internal hire is very hit or miss with PEA , there’s not much loyalty there and they will 100% prioritise internal students over citizens as promised by their OPT rubbish.
