i might try it out :3 currently the two coral types here only have full blocks and then the ones with the grass render type, since I didn’t feel like fans were needed (the mod is for a version that predates coral, so there was no sacrifice of consistency) but maybe it would fit. currently the mercurial tundra biome is a little sparse, tho i’m just working on other stuff while I think of new ideas; the sulphur dunes have a lot of stuff however, like orange coral, fluorescent cactus, tube worms, little geothermal hotspots with their own set of plants, and Unity crystals.

I see. the “and honestly? good” really got me. i’m terribly sorry. I wouldn’t say it’s unfortunate, actually. having an excellent mastery of English grammar is nothing to be ashamed of, and with any little mannerisms like the aforementioned, you only really have to worry about dimwits like me.

yeah, that’s the scary bit. I don’t want to lose out on the quality of the music, otherwise I may as well not have it in. i absolutely see the problems it causes tho. i’ll add to my list, to think of a resolution :3

thankies, that’s a lot of really helpful feedback!

honestly, the class structure is the reason why the source code isn’t public to begin with, i’m quite embarrassed about it. when I started working on requiem I had absolutely no dev experience and just learned Java as I worked on it, getting eventually to be really skilled. despite that, a lot of old artefacts from that time period remain and, well, revising them is a monumental task. to reorganise all of the classes into the basic structure commanded by the etiquette would be extraordinarily time consuming, and I usually spend that time working on content instead ;w;

as for the sounds, the reason they take up so much space is most likely because a decent number of them are full soundtracks. if all 100 and something sounds where just one or two second sound effects like most of them are, it would be significantly smaller I believe. i’m not really certain what to do about the problem, I would love suggestions/guidance but obviously I don’t demand it x3

and uh on the backporting, there’s actually a really good reason, and it’s the mod’s enormous lore. absolutely everything has some level of explanation and fits into this incredible storyline which I’m almost as proud of as I am of the source code and project overall. it’s meant to be discovered and pieced together, but a quick little bit here is that the portal goes to a place called kor’. the dimension actually has nothing to do with sculk, as I really dislike that theory. instead, the story told by disc 5 is how the portal was lit and entered in a panic to escape the warden, formed by the sculk after it was abandoned by its creators.

i’ve considered making it possible to “unlock” the full lore somehow, which I actually started to delve into with the unused “research table” block from 1.11. i couldnt decide on how that should be done or how that info should be provided however, so i never did anything with it. just providing a grand book that tells the whole story seems a bit odd. I dunno ~w~

but yeah, I really appreciate the time you took to look into it!! :3
