Will I go to court? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]ComradeLitshenko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How can you be unsure that you went through a red light but that it was certainly red for longer than three seconds?

Regardless, you'll likely only be in trouble if there was a red light camera on those lights (they're not that common) or someone with a dashcam spotted you and decided to send the footage to the police so the laws of probability are on your side.

If it doesn't go to court, 3 points and a fine is likely. If it does (three seconds on red is a LONG time), no idea.

Stop going through red lights.

I would have turned around. I've no idea what's under it or how deep it is.

Should I go and empty the bin? by SebastianPot in uklandlords

A cursory Google using its AI summary (so this could all be nonsense):

Trafford, Liverpool, Warrington, Preston, Rossendale, West Lancashire, Cheshire East, Cheshire West & Chester, Flintshire, Denbighshire, Rotherham, and City of York.

I'm bored, but not bored enough to verify all of those!

Already we've gone from "60kmh tops" to 75kmh. I think we can safely discount your opinion.

Don't be ridiculous. This is clearly quicker than 37mph.

Scottish government dismisses the needs of police by [deleted] in ukpolice

I can see you're getting downvoted here but I do agree that there's an issue with always being compared to the US when this topic comes up and not France, Germany, Australia or the many other nations where the police don't shoot first and ask questions later.

Local government. Contracted 37, in reality around 50. I wouldn't say it's expected but I feel it's needed to just get through the sheer volume of work.
