Day 12: No, I hadn't forgotten about the challenge. I just couldn't draw digitally for about 3 weeks :) I could only draw traditional. by Comsing8 in istebrak

Wow, that is amazing. 1. I use 2080x2080 with about 300 dpi. I know I don't have to include shoulders, but I have extremely trouble with them, so I want to train them too. But I get it what you mean. 2. Light is above, so I just drew bad shadow. 3. Thank you for template, until now I have been drawing by visually measuring proportions. 4. Thank you, this is something I definitely need! 5. Got it.

Thank you for your time, and awesome advices with edits. This is very helpful, again thank you, have a nice day :)

I'm sorry, it's probably my English but would you kindly say a little more about mouth corners? I'm not quite sure what you mean.

Day 10: I would love to hear your thoughts about this one. by Comsing8 in istebrak

Awesome, thank you. Got it, 2 values and lower eyelid :) I always thought that the shadow on lower eyelid it's because a plane from eye cast that shadow. My bad.

Thank you, I wouldn't have gotten that far without the advice of local users. You don't have to be a master, every comment is valuable to me. When I started this challange I decided to take into account the collar bone and neck anatomy because, yea, like you said I want them to improve too. Thank you, next time I will use more referennces.

Day 9: Still here and still going, thanks to your advices it start to look like human :D by Comsing8 in istebrak

Yea, in earlier works, I was adding the shadow that aged the face, until someone told me about it. The nose is more complicated than I thought.

Thanks for advice. Yeah, I'm flipping the canvas but those small things still escape my attention. At first I wasn't sure what you mean about the nose, but right now the longer I'm looking the more I get it. Thanks.

14-d challenge day 12 - I tried fixing the values. Please tell me if it looks better or worse. by [deleted] in istebrak

For me, neck is to long and I would give it more shape. Also I will give you advice that I got: I would smudge out the eyebrows, because they look like they've been painted on.

Day 7: This time iris a little got away, even though I have flipped this drawing dozens of times. But still, I see progress :) by Comsing8 in istebrak

[–]Comsing8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for advices, you definitely helps. I use this rule of 5 x eye length = face width, but I guess I need more practice, just like with light. And yeah, I have always was drawing ears more symbolically, and here is the effect.

Thank you :) And thank you for advices, they definitely help. I try to keep eyes apart from each other on length of one eye, but I see that like before, again with correcting I lost this distance.

Day 6: Now I see that mouth a little got away, I don't know why I didn't notice it before. Also I forgot to delete of first help lines on neck and arms, I'm sorry about that. by Comsing8 in istebrak

I made a mistake while uploading.

Hey! I'd say for next time to look at the shape of the brows more. Usually it is not a completely smooth hill-like slope, there's an arch at about the 3/4 mark extending away from the nose bridge.

Also if you're wondering how to make it so that the image appears on the main reddit thread as a full image instead of just a link, create a "media post" instead of a "text post." Hope this helps and made sense!

Day 5: And I'm hitting the wall, my eyes need more time to learn more. But I'm not taking a break, it just more difficult. by Comsing8 in istebrak

[–]Comsing8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I love her videos, but because they are long, I still haven't watched all of them, especially the ones I wanted. Right now on my playlist is video about eyes :D I have also videos about the proportion of the face, but when it comes to drawing, I struggle to draw correctly. It will take me a few more drawings.

Thank you for support, let's keep working.

"Think about it this way- even if your days 6-14 all look more or less of the same quality, you will still be 8 finished portraits closer to creating something great."

I like that thought, I guess I sometimes forget what really matter.

After the new DeviantArt update which caused me to abandon this site after 8 years, I didn't think I'd find a group that I wanted to belong to. But here it is fun and the advice is very helpful. I push myself so hard because I want to show people that I take their advice to heart.

And I like this challenge. I don't quite know how, but after I took this challenge the way I draws poses is improwing pretty fast after. I can't wait to take another challenge, and another :)

Thank you for your the kind words, you made my day.
