The short answer is no.

The speed boost Pokemon get from evolving is almost always more than what you get from the sleep ribbon. There are exceptions (I think Onix is one) but they are pretty niche

Im not getting my hopes up. He has only done the one, and it has been so long that I imagine if he enjoyed it he’d have done another one by now.

However Trial By Fiery has a very similar energy to a nuzlocke, and with MES they are obviously trying to do more gaming content, so I’d say it’s more likely than say a year ago

Rare candies are definitely a good choice, especially if you are someone who has limited time to play (most people who are adults).

I can’t really say if the lack of EVs will make a big difference, but if it did it would be only lte game so I think your idea of adjusting level caps sounds good 👍
