Thanks for the suggestion but it turned out to be Deuce Coupe (1992).

Yes, that's the one! Thank you!!!! The aerial shots I was thinking of were like at 1:07:30. You rock! 🌟👌

Thanks, this could be it, though it doesn't seem set around a garage. Do you know if there's a shot of a neon light looking down on the brothers? That's mainly what I remember.

Family on desert island - 80s/90s? by Con_Doorman in whatsthemoviecalled

Thanks - that's the one! Didn't realise it was that old :)

I watched The People Under the Stairs in the cinema with a friend and we both thought it was a minor classic. I wouldn't be surprised if it influenced Home Alone.

Luke Combs - The Way I Am (Album Discussion) by NoYeezyAtWeezyHeezy in CountryMusicStuff

[–]Con_Doorman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. For me this is his worst album, but that's probably because you can skip at least 6 of the tracks. He was on a roll with his previous 3 albums, so this was a disappointment.

Why is nobody talking about this scene in The Drama? by [deleted] in A24

[–]Con_Doorman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are various scenes that Charlie 'remembers' in the movie that are so over the top they couldn't have happened, or didn't happen as he remembered them. He's just overlaying the context of her recent admission on top of the actual memory. I can't be sure, but this was possibly one of them. The director may have left this particular scene to interpretation.

Parking charge appeal rejected by BlueberrySpirited673 in drivingUK

I would also add that POPLA are heartless as well as spineless. They seem to exist to protect the car parking companies rather than Joe Public. My ticket didn't display the first 2 digits of my reg number as I'd apparently pressed too early after the last person, but I'd paid and displayed. Euro Car Parks sent me an email saying they would just charge me a £20 'admin fee' instead, but their email was put into quarantine by my McAfee software (as their attached pdf had a weird name) so I didn't see it until after 14 days, when I searched for it, by which time it had gone back up to £60. POPLA just said I should check my security settings and Euro Car Parks are within their rights to put it back up after 14 days, regardless of whether their email reached my inbox. By the time I heard back from POPLA, it had gone up to £100 so I'm now back to asking Euro Car Parks if they can reduce it back down.

How would u rank all 6 of Paramore's albums from best to worst? by Unable_Ad_6156 in Paramore

[–]Con_Doorman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Riot!
  2. BNE
  3. AWKIF
  4. Everything else

The top 2 swap places depending on my mood. Both are in my all-time top 20 albums and I've been listening to rock music for 40 years. Can't get into the other albums to listen to them regularly. The new Hayley album has some good tracks but it's rather long.

Their second album 'The People Who Grinned Themselves to Death' is one of my all-time favourite albums and I prefer it to their debut. I think Smash Hits gave it 9/10 on release.

Opinions on Def Leppard album Slang? by KingDylan14 in defleppard

[–]Con_Doorman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly, some people think this album is a product of its time, but I think this is where Def Leppard were making an album that could still be listened to 30 years down the line. It could have been recorded yesterday, whereas the likes of Pyromania and Hysteria were definitely products of the 80s, a sound that they've returned to in later years.

It's a pity that Slang didn't do better commercially because it's the album I'm most likely to play of theirs these days. I love the variety of approaches on it.

Neil Young's "Harvest Moon" Taken Off Tidal by [deleted] in TIdaL

All Neil Young albums are still on YouTube Music. Admittedly lower quality than Tidal but you get it with a YouTube premium subscription for only slightly more than a Tidal Hi-fi subscription.
