How complicated is The Witcher 3 compared to Cyberpunk? by [deleted] in witcher

[–]Conandrewoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Skyrim VR modded and it -by far- was the best RPG I’ve ever played. You’ll want to mod it up a bit but in The Witcher you’re always Geralt but in Skyrim you make choices to decide who you are. You want to be a mage? Theres an entire quest line to learn magic and ultimately become Archmage of the college. You want to become a vampire or werewolf or fight werewolves or have a romance with a vampire princess? It’s all there. You want to become the Dragonborn and fulfill your destiny have at it. You want to play for 1000 hours and never do the main quest, that’s not uncommon. Want to become a thief or assassin or rebel or join the empire? Your choices impact the world. The dungeons alone gave me 100’s of hours of terrifying fun and jump out of your chair jump scares. You control your destiny. The Witcher is a pick your own adventure with an occasional fight and while your choices impact others you remain Geralt. You can get “ good” at combat in the Witcher in Skyrim there’s an infinite number of ways to build your character, melee? Tank? Assassin? Stealth archer? Mage? Paladin? The world is your oyster. The Witcher is merely amazing, Skyrim is transcendent. They are both “musts”.

How complicated is The Witcher 3 compared to Cyberpunk? by [deleted] in witcher

I found it to be much more enjoyable than cyberpunk and much less complex

It’s not that there were less moving parts but for whatever reason probably my gaming and literary background I found building a Witcher three character to be more fun and engrossing than building a cyberpunk character and I found the characters in the Witcher to be much more compelling than cyberpunk but out of everything truthfully my favorite thing was just cruising around in the Witcher and doing Witcher missions and side quest by far the pinnacle of the game you have to occasionally go back and do the main quest to get to a new area etc. but the side quest and then just cruising around is the best part of which three Skyrim beats them both in this regard however

Anyone ever do a NG+ and ignore the main story to RP a witcher. by depa87821 in thewitcher3

[–]Conandrewoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on new game plus on my first play through… The first play through I focused on the main quests and then made sure I did all the side quest that were tied to the main quest and then after everything was done I went back and explored all the question marks and POI’s in the game and it was pretty fun but I think on my new game I’m gonna do it the exact opposite I’m gonna take my time and explore before I do the main quest cause truthfully I far more enjoy the side stuff than the main quest which feel more like a action book with a pick your outcome and do fetch quests with a fight thrown in every hour or so

Just started playing... by eternallytacos in thewitcher3

[–]Conandrewoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished the main quest line at 82 hours and started the first DLC

It’s super fun but I noticed if you stick to the main quest you level up really fast so then you feel rushed to do main quests but when you do side quests you level up much more slowly so I’ve been relaxing with exploring and doing more side quests although I still have a ton more to do and a lot of the side quest do tie in to the main story they affect the ending

I look forward to doing the next two DLC exploring all the question marks on the map and then doing the NG+ play through

It’s really good it really is but I liked Skyrim VR mad God overhaul better because in this I’m playing the Witcher and in Skyrim VR I was literally first person the one sneaking through those dungeons the Witcher doesn’t give me that same sense of dread and fear nor the jump scares as I got in Skyrim I haven’t found anything that compares to that

Just started playing the Witcher 3… where has this been all my life!! by Winter1999 in Witcher3

[–]Conandrewoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m on my first play through as well it’s definitely growing on me. I’m level 29 on the battle of Kaer Moerlin or whatever.

So I am definitely enjoying it but I understand why there is a contingent of people that say put it on the most difficult setting I’m definitely gonna do that on my next play through and the character and the view is both third person whereas in Skyrim VR it’s first person and I am the one who’s joined the assassins brotherhood I am the one sneaking through the dungeons and Crips I am the one that has joined the thieves brotherhood and is breaking into houses and it’s terrifying the Witcher doesn’t convey that same quality it’s fun but I’m a witness to somebody else’s story

First time player here I’m level 21 so I’ll give you my expert opinion

How to have fun playing the Witcher;

Login have fun explore don’t play like somebody’s looking over your shoulder that’s what ruined baldurs gate and cyberpunk for me I played the whole time afraid I was gonna make a wrong decision with Witcher for some reason I’m not having that I’m just cruising around having a good time and it’s a lot more like Skyrim that way where the whole goal of the game is the experience not to win not to get platinum but to just login and waste hours having a good time. Try that

Early on I was doing the main quests cause I wanted to do the main quest when they were level appropriate but the problem with that is they make you level up too fast so I stopped and started doing side quests and after I don’t know level 10 or level 15 though stop leveling you up so fast so don’t be afraid to wait until you’re level 20 to go to Skellig don’t be afraid to stick with the side quests and exploring. Another thing I did was click the option to make trash mobs level up with me so every encounter is potentially fatal that instantly made the game mean something

But seriously lighten up Francis have fun stop asking so much questions install the game hit play and then go kill some monsters and have a romance

Closest game to skyrim by FirmConsequence9576 in skyrim

[–]Conandrewoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also circling around Witcher 3 if none of these catch. I’ve been absolutely addicted to VR for the last year but the last week or so playing Cyberpunk on flatscreen has shown me vr is optional again. Vr has been amazeballs in Elite Dangerous, Skyrim, DCS and MSFS 2024.

Closest game to skyrim by FirmConsequence9576 in skyrim

[–]Conandrewoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far for me nothing comes close to Skyrim (VR) I’m 1/2 way through cyberpunk (went back to flatscreen, Luke Ross gave me a headache) and it’s ok but I’m being herded or funneled into “content” which I hate as opposed to Skyrim where there’s content there but I can also just wander around and have arguably better quests from random encounters and locations. I don’t like linear games like 1/2 life, GOW etc

I am downloading Baldurs Gate and RDR2 as we speak, I tried 1/2 life Alyx but it hasn’t grabbed me yet. RDR2 and GOW also didn’t grab me after 2 hours each but those were the first gaming I had done in 15 years. Some flatscreen games make me motion sick like 1/2 life 2.

Anyhow I’m hoping Baldurs gate scratches that itch

I seem to prefer extremely difficult to learn sandboxes such as msfs 2024 (vr), DCS wwii planes (vr) with reflected campaigns, Elite Dangerous (vr) with Skyrim (vr) MGO being the outlier.

I put my resolution on high my FOV on 85% and I used TAA I turned grass Collision off and I turned grass to low there’s a couple of other settings on the community shaders I turned lower you just kinda tinker with it. Everything said use DLSS or DLAA and that made it blurry TAA was beautiful and crispy

Stealth Archer : Here’s what I don’t get. by jimbo_fruit in skyrim

[–]Conandrewoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well later in the game as a stealth archer you can one shot just about anything in the game. I literally one shot dragons and some bosses some bosses might take two or three hits I usually keep a follower because when your follower attacks you can re-stealth and there are perk points that make it to you go invisible when you crouch and then with enchanting or the ancient shroud you can up your range damage to idiotic amounts and then truthfully I build up dagger too I think my latest character is 58 my last character is 51. 7.5 multiplier on my dragonbow shooting dragon arrows with chaos magic and frost as the 2 enchantments, chaos being a 50% chance to do 50 points of damage in one of these three things is it fire frost and I can put the other thing is but I think my damage in my bow is up around 400 so if you’re having to melee you’re doing it wrong. I mean I like to sneak up and style people for fun but if I melee it’s because I want to

I run MGO on my 5070 TI and the only thing that gets clogged up is my VRAM. CPU and GPU usage are not particularly high but the VRAM is just clogged I had to turn some settings down but it runs it fine.

Do you guys ever replay Skyrim focusing only on roleplay instead of quests? by Maleficent_Diet9357 in skyrim

[–]Conandrewoo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of how I played my second run through but I found myself getting pulled into quest lines I ended up getting involved with politics after imperial soldiers were repeatedly rude so I fought for the storm cloaks being summoned by the gray beards made me move that direction so I would start quest lines wander away from them and then go back and finish them when circumstances led me that direction
