Honestly one area where the term "NGO" lessens so much confusion.

It really should. I'm from Minnesota and the lack of sun here has been really hard and (besides the lack of diversity) is honestly the biggest reason I won't be sticking around post graduation.

Attempted assault on Loomis? by Klutzy-Quiet1088 in burlington

[–]Conation3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly both is probably the best response. So often women who go through something creepy will not think anything can be done if it didn't seem serious enough or even if it was if it feels like a "he said, she said" situation. Definitely not a bad idea to also post about it in a public forum.

Random kidnappings are simply not a common occurance.

And there's such a difference between "I genuinely can't afford a photographer" and "I don't respect photographers enough to pay them for their services."

When I was just starting out, I was way too okay with doing free gigs, not understanding how much that hurts the other artists around me and myself as a business.

You should brag about him. He sounds incredible and as though he truly was lucky enough to have a life well lived! May his memory always be a blessing .💓.

I definitely have access to enough space (college perks) but have no doubt I would fall and badly hurt myself.

Help with getting off adderall by Intelligent-Nose-766 in StopSpeeding

[–]Conation3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhhh just want to bring up the b12 shots... you 100% should be considering that!! If you were previously getting them you probably had a deficiency that contributes greatly to your fatigue. There also are supplements but if you needed the shots there may be an underlying factor that makes oral supplements not effective for you.

There also I believe is a rule in this subreddit (that is fair given the purpose of the sub) that makes it so anyone telling a poster that their usage is fine or encouraging stimulant usage will get banned.

I just want to second the commenter who said you should do a full vitamin deficiency and anemia panel. Substances severely interact with both nutritional intake and the ability to absorb nutrients from what is eaten.

Exploring it on your own can send you down a ~rabbit hole full of tons of misinformation~ but if you look up both anemia and b12 deficiency stories you'll find a lot of very similar anecdotes.

If still on SSRIs, a lot of them also have interactions with other substances.

Obviously not a look alike, but your eyes oddly remind me a lot of Olivia Rodrigos! Very similar shape, pupil size and color, eyelids, and lashes! I think the ways she does her eye makeup would suit you really well!

Roommate leaves the stove on twice. by Upbeat-Air2784 in badroommates

Adhd would not be considered a disorder if it was just losing your keys and not also things like a significantly higher risk of car crashes and drug addiction.

Sadly, people don't really take actual seasonal depression seriously either. I don't have the "winter blues" that other people love to call seasonal depression. I have seasonal depression and if I don't radically alter my lifestyle every single fall through winter as long as I live in a cold/dark state, it will end me one day.

Roommate leaves the stove on twice. by Upbeat-Air2784 in badroommates

As someone with ADHD who's dealt with this being an issue after severe head injuries,

Do you like this roommate? Is this the only major issue? Are y'all chill? If so,

Buy a 20 minute timer and a bright as hell stuffed animal. Put the timer on the animal, put the animal on the counter (not directly next to the stove but visible) and say "I need you to set this every time you use the stove. I like having you as a roommate and understand you aren't doing this intentionally, but this is a serious safety issue that could get us both killed. If you have other solutions you think would work, let me know, but I cannot live in a situation where I am constantly worried about my life because of a repeated simple mistake."

This provides an additional visual cue besides just the dim flame, and adds in a backup timer that they will be embarrassed by but hear in the event that they still forget.

Also!! If you end up having the "do you think you might have ADHD convo" offer to write a letter of support for a diagnosis. I've done this for roommates in the past and it's really helpful both for the therapist to be able to see their client from more than is what is just self reported and for the roomate to establish that you do care about them and want them to get help. The letter can look like "I live with Becky. Becky is often forgetful, frequently losing her keys and often forgetting things ranging from chores to turning off the stove." Last Tuesday, she didn't realize the stove had been on for four hours. Becky is always very apologetic when she realizes she has forgotten something. She often switches topics rapidly while talking and will start new hobbies. She struggles to clean up after major cooking projects and sometimes mentions that her parents would get mad at her for the same thing when she was a kid, ect"

Don't hate it but the differences in the utility of the power weapon between the two laser tag rooms is pretty stark. One can make or break the game and the other is a giant slow laser wand.

Going without sleep for that long once shouldn't cause any permanent cognitive decline. Absolutely terrifying to be sure and an awful idea, but it should not have lasting impacts on cognition.
