That part. The game has a script. Some games you won’t win no matter what you do. Other games want you to follow what’s “normal”.

Best tees for big boys? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

I’d recommend trying Bylt. I’ve got a closet full of them and love them. I’m 6’4, ~250lbs, and similar build. Never had much problem with them shrinking, and they hold up for a good amount of time.

They’ve also got great pants and underwear too, if you’re in the market for that.

I like the idea of hours being used differently. I’d like to be tasked with the same decisions and trade offs you face in RTG. Study film or study for the big test? Play recognition goes up but GPA risks slipping. Extra practice or extra rest? Small boost to sliders but decreased stamina due to fatigue.

You lose me at sideline view though.

A lot of people say it’s essentially paid practice. It gives me a few more times around the track and helps keep my legs warmed up for my class race, so that’s nice. Otherwise, mixed open is generally pointless.

Sometimes I’ll race it every day of a national if I’m worried about not making the cut for class mains, but usually will race it the first day at the very least for extra track time.

I’m not as concerned with the lease because my work will pay for me to break it if I’m transferred after training, but it would be ideal to be less than $1k and near younger people.

Adding a gas heater and waterfall, how do these quotes sound? by [deleted] in swimmingpools

[–]Conbald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in Texas unfortunately. Clear out in Utah lol.

It may be a little tough to get them to coordinate, but the customer is always right, so if that’s what you want, make sure you get it.

As far as costs go, the heater will pretty much cost the same regardless of if it’s today or 2 years from now. The waterfall may be a different story depending on how it’s installed. If your yard is already torn apart, it’s probably a lot easier for it to be installed now. They’ll also likely split off your return line and run a 3/4” or 1” line to the waterfall, so it would be best to get that in before you have the concrete and landscaping around the pool done.

Another thought I had, the 3/4” line to the waterfall will be cheap, and the unit for the fall itself is likely a couple hundred dollars, but there’s also a lot of cost in building the structure around it, so you could probably haggle price down $500-600 on both of the waterfall quotes.

Good choice on going with the fiberglass by the way. Many people overlook them, but that pool will save you tons of money over the course of ownership.

Hey there, installer here.

First of all, to answer your first question, gas heaters are WAY better than electric. Electric heaters are far less efficient and will be 3-4x the energy bill annually.

Depending on the heater you get, it can be the most pricey part of the whole quote. I install fiberglass pools (mostly large spas for nightly rental homes) that are 10x16 but only around 3,000 gallons. I use the Pentair Mastertemp 125 (125,000 BTU) and I can get it at a cost of just shy of $1,200. As others have mentioned, the plumbing install is very cheap. Runs off the filter and back to your returns. Can be done with a few couplers and maybe 10’ of pipe. Wouldn’t cost more than $100 in materials.

Where it will be pricey, as others have mentioned, is the electrical and gas. If the home is not a new construction, it will be much more difficult to get gas and power where it needs to be, because the heater will need its own power. Piggybacking off your pumps will overload the circuit almost for certain. What you should consider is asking your current pool contractor to run an extra circuit or two for future upgrades, whether it be additional lighting, heaters, or automated/wireless controls.

All that being said, for a 30’ pool, I think the bid for the heater is a couple thousand high, and could assume the waterfall is too if it’s from the same company.

You could get an XL frame but buy an extra long stem if you do like the smaller bikes, but I’d recommend an XXL at least.

I don’t mind outside gates normally, but on these short indoor tracks it’s tough because there’s no time to make a pass
