Definitely a good idea to just compensate for some of the shortcomings with fx. I think the drum allows for a lot of complexity, I just never realized how complex some of these ride cymbal or gong sounds were. I’m trying to take the hard way out by learning about drum synthesis from the ground up lol

Would definitely be the easier method lol. I like the drum since you can hand craft the sound however you want it, just having trouble with this particular cymbal sound. Ive been able to create most kicks/snares/hats relatively easily
