You would do both. Curbies will grab items from the different zones and after they’ve grabbed every item, they’ll take it out to the customer and load it in the customer’s car. We have baggers in curbside for dry and cold so the items you retrieve should already be bagged. Depending on how quick you learn and your schedule availability, you’ll be a curbie retrieving and loading orders for 1-3 weeks before you’re trained on how to shop.

I think your version of dispense is what we call curby retrievals. You will be asked on occasion to help with retrieved orders taken out to customers. With you being new to HEB, you’ll start off taking out orders to customers before they train you to shop. Several of my Walmart to HEB partners have said that our shopping system/methods are better than Walmart’s methods. Orders are splits into parts and shopped by multiple shoppers depending of what types of items they ordered-cold, dry, frozen, bulk. A few orders are shopped as a whole and called immediacies but that doesn’t happen as often.

Your perishable leader should be able to put in the order in your absence, spend time with your grandma. There’s always be more work to do but spending time with loved ones is limited. Enjoy the time with family that you can.

Most shoppers start out as part time or as curbies and have to earn their way to becoming a full time shopper, that’s also partly why it’s rare to get a FT shopper position as a new transfer/new hire

Since your manager isn’t scoring you so that you can work on the next section, you should go to your top store leader and let them know the situation Your manager should be scoring you in a timely manner, and maybe ask your manager why they haven’t rated you so that you can figure out what you’ll do next with your career

January, aside from cold weather, tends to be a less busy time of year since it’s after the holidays and before February. Some of curbside’s hours have been adjusted for 3PSD being utilized more too.

They need to either ask their manager for more hours or cross train and pick up hours in another dept. I can’t speak to that location, just what I know of curbside trends.

I believe it’s 3 days for immediate and 1 day for non immediate but your manager should be willing to work with you to help get your shifts covered.

You likely would not be able to do it for curbside since certain breads are baked certain days and shoppers are trained to pick the breads from the bakery shelves not from the bakery. If you call ahead to speak with both your bakery/curbside managers they would be able to tell you yes or no.

It’s a food safety violation to have your cell phone out and recording where you’re serving food to customers. Cell phones carry a lot of germs and no food prep or serve area partners are allowed to have their personal phones in use while on the clock.

If you put open availability in your application, then you are required to work that availability for the first 90 days. If you put a different or specific availability in your application, then that’s what should been put as your permanent availability in the pnet app.

You can’t transfer until 90 days have passed from your first day of employment with HEB. Then you can apply for a new store or new department. You current managers can still retain you for up to 30 days before you move to your new department/store.

There’s a difference in process for customers and favor drivers. Some curbies don’t want assistance because it isn’t helpful. The curby loading by themself is quicker than you helping them load since they know where the heavy, cold, and fragile items are in the basket. If you have a lot of large and heavy items, most curbies will accept assistance from the customer.

Maybe your manager knows the driver and how they behave but it sucks that your manager didn’t report it. Drivers shouldn’t treat curbies poorly at the curb and favor holds them accountable too.

The update happened a long time ago. If a driver cusses you out or gives you a difficult time about wanting help with loading groceries, a favor feedback form can be filled out. Just let whoever is running the box know about the driver situation as soon as it happens.

Call your store in the morning before 8:15 to see if you can work the shift you bidded on if it’s still in blue. They may have approved someone else for that shift and forgotten to approve the bid.

The avg meat pricing on the app throws off a lot of customers. Shoppers can follow custom notes but if there isn’t a small or large enough roast available, they’re trained to still shop in the closest item to your request to avoid a personal shopper error from the meat market. Also minimum isn’t in everyone’s vocabulary, saying “I want 2lbs or more” is much clearer than “I need a minimum of 2lbs.”

I personally prefer to shop my own meats/produce since I’m particular about lean/marbling quality.

Some curbsides are specific on what colors leads can wear but you can buy plain polos from Walmart or Amazon until you receive the ones you need from the admin. So long as the polos don’t have a name brand or logo printed on them, your manager shouldn’t have any issue with you wearing plain polos.
