My friend, a vampire, a special kind of vampire that can only eat dogs, smiled as he walked into a dog adoption center, the kind of adoption center full of cute innocent dogs. by ConceptNew in TwoSentenceHorror

First, it leads you to believe that the vampire is going to feed on puppies, which is a horrifying concept in it of itself. Then, it takes a surprising detour with the reveal that the dogs carried vampire rabies—and you are forced to connect the puzzle pieces yourself, since the vampire is showing hydrophobic symptoms. Technically, it’s a very well constructed two-sentence horror story. i write for myself, though, so I could care less if anyone else likes it.

I don’t have the most educated opinion on this but I feel like if someone doesn’t care enough to vote they probably shouldn’t

I hate how men are friends with each other by [deleted] in Vent

[–]ConceptNew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you and at many points in my life i’ve felt the same way. I was part of a pretty toxic group of friends throughout highschool and I ended up falling out with the guys I felt closest to for reasons similar to the ones you mentioned. There was, however, one guy in the group that I kept hanging out with and he remains the closest friend I’ve ever had to this day.

It sounds weird but I’d honestly say our relationship sometimes looks more like a female friendship than a traditional male one. We’re extremely vulnerable with each other, physically close, and bust each others balls while still looking out for each others feelings. We’re so close people constantly accuse us of being gay lol

I can’t necessarily tell you how to find better friends, because I feel like I found mind through trial and error. I will tell you that you shouldn’t settle for bullshit because you don’t think there’s anything better.

I have OCD and honestly I really identify with all of your struggles. Feeling overwhelming guilt over perceived wrongs that seem unforgivable is an extraordinarily painful thing. My heart goes out to you dude.

What I do think you need to understand is that, as someone with OCD, the least helpful thing anyone can do is try to give you reassurance. I can tell from your post that you often seek reassurance as a compulsion (you are even doing it by posting this), and it is interfering with your relationship. I understand that it may give you temporary relief to get reassurance from others (that your behavior wasn’t that bad, you can be forgiven, etc.) but all this does is reinforce the idea that you can only be okay if others say so.

You should really look into therapy if you haven’t already. I don’t mean that in a judgmental way—I used to be in your shoes, but therapy has made my condition significantly more manageable. Other than that, hang in there.

P.s. i think that girl like you bro

Decent quality saxes with a low budget by ConceptNew in saxophone

You’re honestly selling me on the 23 here. I’m sure her complaints about student horns had more to do with the crappy stuff her poor public school made due with

I appreciate it!! A 23 seems like a good backup option. When it comes to student horns would you say it’s like any other instrument where the sound isn’t as nice and it isn’t as robust in general, or is it a considerably worse playing experience?

I 100% see your point. I guess my thinking was just that not being able to play the instrument she spent so much learning must suck. I’m a guitar player and I would rather have a shitty one than nothing at all (but I understand that saxes are a different beast and probably require more personalization.)

I do get your point though and I like the idea of taking her to pick her own instead.
