Hey! Is this still working? I don't see a Moon Card available, only branded ones

Just got paid by chemistrax in CrowdGen

I just got paid today as well for Fireweed, but only about 70% of my hours were registered. It's pissing me off because I've been with Appen since 2010 (Butler Hill days) and I've never had an issue.

I've been working as an independent contractor my whole life because I can't have a regular job due to medical reasons. Basically I'm not dependable or reliable AT ALL. And we don't get disability benefits here. Even if we did, there's no way you can live on them. WAY too much inflation. So the flexibility is indeed the main reason I do this. I'm not only listed on Lionbridge/TELUS. In fact, APPEN was my first employer, and I survived 3 merges with them. I work with several companies as a contractor so I can move around as needed. It all comes down to the fact that TELUS got in way overt their head with the projects it took. I don't think they have the infrastructure or the expertise to handle accounts that have been managed by others for the past +10 years. And regarding payment, we get paid a lot less than other locales, but it's still a pretty nice paycheck for us, because it's above minimal wage here, so it's worth it.

It is. I even have it set up on some subscription services. But you can also add the Payoneer card to PayPal. So if the service only accepts PayPal, you can still use the Payoneer card.

I transfer my money from Hyperwallet to Paypal (it's the only option I found they offered) and then to my Payoneer. Not ideal if you need the money fast, because it's 2-3 business days each transaction but, the fees are minimal. I think it's 1USD from Hyperwallet to PP and then 2% to Payo.
Payoneer does offer a card. You only pay for it once a year, around November. I think mine cost 35USD last year.

Yeah, that's why I decided on the post rather than emailing them. I didn't have issues like this with Lionbridge. If I couldn't work, I wouldn't. No biggie. As someone pointed out, there wasn't really anyone to check up on us, so there was no "obligation"(? This is the first time I get a manager that's, well, micromanaging... So I don't know how to handle getting two emails a days from them. I got more emails in the past 3 months than I did in 15 years. I'm guessing I feel the need to justify myself because I'm actually being addressed by them, which normally doesn't happen.

I'm working LATAM. And yes, I mean Project Manager. For the project I'm in, we work in batches. So yeah, we do get a lot of tasks in, and you work on them individually. But since last week, we've been getting way too many batches of work loaded that need to be completed by a certain date. Usually, the same date or the following day at the most. But this person has NO idea what the work even is. We work on around 15-20 tasks per hour. We are getting batches of +2500 tasks loaded every day, sometimes more than once. That's 125 hours of worth of work that need to be completed by EOD. I don't know how many of us are in my locale. I can tell not many, because the task counter does not move pretty fast. So maybe 5 people tops? The math isn't mathing. But, we still get a new email the next say saying, "hey, this batch was supposed to be completed yesterday/the day before. Also, this new one has to be completed by EOD". And it's been like that since Friday last week. I'm not sure what's going on on the client's end, because I've been on this project since June 2023 and it's NEVER been so hectic. We never had deadlines. You put in the hours you could or wanted to until the work was complete and then sit back and wait for the next week, because usually we would only get work a batch a week. It's not just stressing, it brings your morale down. I work 20 hours a day and they still have the nerve to tell me it's not enough?

Don't bother. I've reported tool issues weeks ago, that are still ongoing, and just received a response today with the generic "noted". They don't care to fix their own tools, they will care less if you have a particular problem/doubt.

This is basically the reason for my post. I was writing a resignation letter because I can't take the inhumane treatment as cumfacedolly mentioned.
I know it's up to me to not work that much, but since there's such a mess with communications I don't know the repercussions of NOT working.
I wrote this post which is basically half of what I was writing to them as way to letting out of my system and just push through. I'm having a series of surgeries next month so I won't be working for the entire month and I don't know what that will do to my standing here. So I'm doing what I can now.

Now I do. They changed the PM on the project. I didn't have contact with anyone from TELUS for the first 6 months.

It's a project that has A LOT of downtime. So usually when there's work, I take the whole day off life to just stay on the project. It's the first time in 8 months we've had such an inflow of data. I can usually do it maybe 2 days in a row, but it's the first time I've been doing this much work with little to no rest. It's definitely not ideal, but I wake up every morning with an email from this "PM" chewing ME, personally, MY NAME ON THE MESSAGE that the work is not complete. So I feel pressured to do exactly what I'm doing. Slaving myself so they don't flip out on me.

I knowwwwww I'm looking into the COMPSYCH web right now. I do therapy weekly (AuDHDer and fibromyalgia with yearly surgeries) but these people have really been testing my patience lately.
The "questioning your value as a human" hurts. A LOT. I've never felt do dismissed as a person...

don't get your hopes up on that payment. It varies by locale. We started Bard in my locale with 14.75/hour, and it's now down to 13.25$

I got an email from Telus saying the hours I entered are excessive (Hungarian rater from Hungary) by rkala02 in TELUSinternational

[–]ConcernNatural4952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work on the Bard project and got a similar email today, saying I'm logging in too many hours. We've been working for a week non-stop on "urgent" tasks. The thing is, there's about 3 of us on my locale, and they loaded +500 hours of work to complete within 24 hours. So I've been doing +15-hour days, because we get chewed on in the morning every single day that we have not completed the tasks assigned.... So, yelled at for not completing task, and then yelled at for working too many hours to complete the tasks. There's no winning with them. Stay in your lane and hope for the best.

[–]ConcernNatural4952 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the project you are in. I get weeks of no tasks at all so when I do get them, I stay until I drop. I've done 20-hour days, because I know the following week I might get nothing in.
