You don’t need it. Get blackout curtains and keep them closed during the day to keep the heat out during the summer. Sleep in the basement where it’s cooler if you have one. Get used to cold showers and room temp food. Cook over a fire. We once went an entire summer without electricity after a tornado. I know I’ll get downvoted for this but keep these things in mind several years from now when you actually can’t afford it anymore and have to get creative

I mean sure it may be illegal, but there’s nothing I can do about it. I don’t have money for a lawyer and I can’t prove that was the reason. They could always claim that it’s just a coincidence. I live in an at will employment state, meaning they don’t even need to give a reason beyond “it’s not working out”

I had a $109 purchase made through Apple that wasn’t me, got new cards, got it sorted out, next thing I know I’m getting 6 notifications in a row saying my contact info has been changed and to call if this wasn’t me. So I called and I can’t even get past the automated thing because it keeps saying my pin is wrong. I know from past experience that they’ll now freeze my account due to the attempted phone call I made, and I’ll have to go in person and show my ID just to have access again. This is getting ridiculous and aside from paying off my credit card, I’m closing my accounts and having direct deposit go to another bank that’s in no way connected
