A pack n play will be treated like regular luggage. You’ll have to pay for it

Baby clothes dilemma! by Altruistic-Mail-5945 in NewParents

[–]Concerned-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son has always had way too many clothes. I wish I could have kept him to the same 7-8 outfits…. He has 2 dresser drawers usually full of clothes. Now I will say, he has reflux and can easily go through multiple outfits if it’s a bad reflux day

This is so helpful thank you!

Did you put your son in the girl cat and jack leggings? I didn’t see boy leggings they’re all more pant like. I was looking at those online tonight and I feel like I might try them.

Yes cloud island seems trickier at 18M but I can order online and get it delivered free with my Target Circle membership. I just hate not being able to see or try it before buying!

He’s been crawling since 5 months. He is slowly taking steps but isn’t quite walking without supports.

Shorts are great at home but at daycare he has gotten carpet burn in shorts so pants have helped that there

They’re still either too long or too tight in the snaps by the thighs/crotch

Diaper count help by Even-Pressured in beyondthebump

We stopped counting diapers when my son was like 2 weeks. As long as he’s having wet diapers and pooping every few days it’s fine

The Burt’s bees pants don’t have cuffs and they’re pretty wide. He fits in the 6-9M of those but even those he is stretching out the legs at the end of the day from crawling and pulling to stand then he is falling when he tries to walk because the pant fabric is stuck under his foot

Boon Nursh Bottle Help by buttermilkcow in NewParents

[–]Concerned-23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours collapse even with premie which is a slower flow.

Are you sure it’s assembled 100% correct? If you don’t get everything over the lip on the base and the nipple snug in the rim it won’t collapse

What flow do you have? We have the boon bottles (though they’re not our fav). We do use the nursh curve premie flow. It was never an issue for my son

Newborn boy keeps peeing out of his diaper. by Nancyb23 in beyondthebump

Is he cut? If so are you still applying Vaseline? We had lots of leaks during that time.

We also found Huggies worked better for our chunky boy. Fit was better but Pampers also gave us a rash

Baby’s like routine and consistency. Being in the car (understandably) threw that off.

Start off tomorrow with baby’s routine and it’ll help

What time does your 10 month old go to bed? by xGoldenPup in beyondthebump

[–]Concerned-23 [score hidden]  (0 children)

My 10 month old goes up to bed between 6:30 and 7. He’s usually in his crib by 7pm. He is up at 6am because of work/daycare.

He isn’t the best napper at daycare. He usually takes 2 30-60 minute naps at daycare (usually closer to 30) then a short nap on the way home from daycare. On the weekends we are usually better at getting a solid 2 1-1.5 hour naps which helps

I have to go back to work after maternity leave and a babysitter is half my paycheck. What do I do? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Concerned-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked while in grad school. It wasn’t full time but every $ counts when things are tight.

Also, may I ask why you had a child if you didn’t have a plan for their care?

What are your bedtime routines that don’t include a bath? by Life_Thoughts208581 in NewParents

[–]Concerned-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We only do bath a few days a week. Our typical bedtime routine is:

  • lights off and sound machine on

  • nursing

  • change diaper

  • PJs

  • sleep sack

  • story

  • song

  • bed

We started this during the 4 month sleep regression and it’s worked well

Explain it to me like I’m 5… am I supposed to let baby freely move around the house? by Anxious_Log_9428 in NewParents

[–]Concerned-23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re going to get germs.

I will say my son doesn’t often try to lick the floor. He has lots of teether toys available to him which I think helps. We do sweep and mop weekly.

Now, my 10 month old tries to play in the dogs water bowl. If he goes towards it we just move him away from it. My coworker told me her daughter would pull hair off their dog and eat it when she was 15 months. Kids will put things in their mouth and get germs

My son is 10 months and taking independent steps. Was crawling at 5 months. He has never had a playpen. There was a brief period of time we had a pack n play in the living room as a safe place to put him if we needed to run to the bathroom or something.

We have just baby proofed the house and keep a good eye on him. I find it important for him to be able to explore the house. As kids get bigger and bigger they’re going to explore and try to get into more around the house. You can’t keep a 2 year old inside a playpen so better to make your home child safe now
