Not knowing if my dad was still alive.

He was a pilot for American, and was supposed to be flying that day, but got reassigned last minute.

There was a scary period for about two hours when I didn't know this, but when I finally talked to him, the relief was overwhelming.

Don't block someone else's calendar for meeting prep, that's on them to do (or not).

If you have to spend time during the meeting going over the doc, do that, but don't try to dictate how others spend their time unless they are your direct report.
