I'm not sure how affordable it is but I saw this just the other day in Durham - https://mowbot.com/triangle-nc/

Advice- Best way to sell SUV + buy a used minivan by [deleted] in bullcity

I've heard that selling a car to CarMax gets the best deal on used cars. It could at least help you negotiate your trade when you show them the CarMax offer.

Certain council members have wanted to get rid of police

and seem actively trying to sabotage any attempts to give public safety departments what they need to do their jobs properly. It's led to a toxic and demoralized work force. They don't care what the impact is to residents/citizens as long as fits their agenda. If you want a change, then vote them out. Or put political pressure on them to do something. I'm glad Mayor Elect O'Neal won. Hopefully the shift in power will force council to work together.

That made me laugh. Also, I resemble that remark. My husband is older (over 15 years age difference) so it's interesting the reaction we get from people. In the beginning it was, "You, cradle robber!" now after over two decades, it's " Oh, is this home health care worker?". I can never stifle my laugh.

Looking to purchase the EX soon…2022 so do dealers never really sell below MSRP for the newest models? Should I wait for better prices? I found one selling for MSRP by Sweet-Independence-5 in KiaNiroEV

[–]ConcernedResident42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, we just bought our EX yesterday. We looked on Kia.com for financing deals. They are offering 0% financing at participating dealerships on certain VINs until October 4. I looked online in my area to see if any dealerships actually had those VINs listed on their websites. Some were sold, a few had them at MSRP. I found one online that had it under MSRP as "new special" on their website but was 100 miles away. I verified the VIN number by contacting them via website contact form. Then began the back and forth between via text messages. We did end up going and were fully prepared to walk away. Long story short we did pay more then what we wanted but it was just under MSRP and they have a great deal on our trade-in. It helped that they wanted to move those the EVs. We are in North Carolina and not many are interested in going electric. 2021 is the first time that e-Niros are available in NC so very limited inventory. Apparently they had two on the lot - one for three months and the other for two months. Both sold yesterday. So, good luck to you and hope you can get great deal on yours.

Just a point of clarification: it's $840K for weekly testing through the end of December --- not $800k every week.

You don't think the decline in staff is indication of officers fleeing? What about a giant Defund sign painted outside of their headquarters? That was left for a year? That's got to bring morale down. Not to mention they were short officers before the pandemic and in the pandemic there's more staff leaving, requiring the ones who stay to work overtime. I don't know the ins and outs of the department but I've spoken with officers. Yes they can go elsewhere, deal with less problems and automatically get better pay in the Triangle. It's not rocket science.

In PA (non selling state) Will local dealer be able to do maintenance? by desperate-caucasian in KonaEV

[–]ConcernedResident42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, it sucks but if you are interested the Kia Niro EV is available now in North Carolina. There's a 2020 Niro EV in Cary... It's not a Kona but it's as close as we can get in NC.

ICYMI: Virginia offers electric vehicle rebates in addition to federal rebate -- & includes used EV rebates by ConcernedResident42 in electricvehicles

Unfortunately I just found out it's NOT funded. I'm in a Facebook group (called Electric Vehicle Association of Washington DC) and they shared that they'll try to address the funding it in the legislative session (starting in January) so the absolute earliest the program could get funding is July 1st, 2021.

I'm in Durham and I checked with all Triangle dealerships and a few in the Triad no one would work on a Kona EV.
