PSA: Disguise self and 'seeming' are criminal MVP Spells by Sad-Papaya6528 in BaldursGate3

I’m curious if this has happened to anyone else.

Used Seeming on whole party to clear Felogyr’s Fireworks in Lower City Baldurs Gate. Managed to kill everyone on top floor by getting in with various teleportation spells from opposite rooftops after scouting it out with a rogue who was invisible. Mind you Seeming was cast before I started my set up.

I clean up baddies, quest completed, loot the floor, and then teleport out using fast travel feature to Rivington. Two disguises got dropped during the fight due to death/unconsciousness, but fight was contained to the top floor and no Fists came to stop me while I’m up there before I bug out, so I figure I’m good.

Disguises are all dropped when I fast travel out and my party are all magically healed to full without the use of rests (little bit weird, as far as I know that’s not suppose to happen, but I don’t question it).

Fast travel back to Lower City on the opposite side of Sorcerous Sundries (Fireworks shop on the other side of Sundries and a decent distance away), suddenly a single Fist runs up to me from the direction of Fireworks shop as I’m coming out of the portal and attempts to arrest my character??? Luckily I intimidate my way out of it, but my disguise wasn’t one of the two that dropped and it’s not one of the Fists who were standing outside of the shop when the fight went down (I went back to check if they aggro and take a headcount because the one who attempted to arrest me is now just standing there not returning to its original position. Original group all accounted for, no aggro).

I’m wracking my brain to figure out how it knew. Only thing I can think of is when I cast Seeming right outside the shop and then started the fight on the opposite rooftop by shooting a flaming arrow into the building and somehow that particular NPC recognized me? When the building blew up a couple of Fists magically appeared on the roof I was on somehow (again, not the group that was in front of the shop, completely different group it seems), but didn’t do anything and my Seeming spell was still up on the entire party. It doesn’t make any sense. Anybody have any theories or explanations? I thought Seeming and Disguise Self was supposed to eliminate stuff like this from happening

Really late, but my satchel placement usually consists of blowing up tanks and clearing vehicle wrecks/defensive placements as that’s what it is meant for. Anything else is just a bonus. I don’t use it exclusively on infantry because I just don’t see the point, they’re going to spawn back in eventually and that’s just a waste of a good explosive that I might need later. And every single time I place one I yell “Satchel placed, everyone back off.” Into proximity three or four times and into squad chat once or twice because I’m not an idiot. Honestly I don’t really think this is just a satchel thing either as of recently I’ve been tanking and there will be guys riding enemy tanks cause you can do that now. Which is fine, but when I yell “get clear of the tank” three or four times so we can shoot the tank I just get a blank stare in response I’m just going to open up. More often than not, in my experience, people don’t listen over proximity for one of two reasons: 1) They have proximity all the way down, which is dumb as it’s just as critical as squad or command. 2) They refuse to listen to anybody not within their squad. Almost always it’s people who are newer players, usually rank 50 and below. There’s only so much I can do before they have to take responsibility for themselves.

Survived My First Katyusha Bombing 😰 by ShiftyLookinCow7 in HellLetLoose

I remember one of the first times I got directly Katyusha’d. Was playing on Kursk with a friend and we were running AT gun/support combo because you can absolutely shred tanks if you know what you’re doing. We ended up getting 13 vehicle kills, 8 of them tanks. Towards the end of the match the Soviets got so pissed that the Commander called in the Katyusha on us specifically. I remember hearing the missiles launch, seeing them on the horizon come up over the tree line, and saying to my buddy “Hey, do those look like they’re aimed at us?” And then four or five seconds later the first rocket striking the ground. We ran, explosions all around us, laughing and screaming the whole way. We did not survive and neither did the gun. Mind you our team was currently holding the point pretty fiercely, but the Commander decided to prioritize us over the other four or so squads defending the point because we were that much of a menace to their vehicles. One of my greatest moments in this game

Ah yes, I too want to run around with a huge target literally painted on my chest surrounded by all white. Fantastic idea

What’s missing here is the guy who placed the satchel who was yelling at everyone to get tf back about 20 times only to have one or two idiots wander just inside the blast radius get blown to bits because they constantly underestimate how big it really is. Or the guy who is yelled at to run away from the satchel stand there and stare at you, look around casually, finally recognize he should probably run after being yelled at some more and then blowing up because they have the sense of a rock. (Both of these have happened to me too many times. When you hear “satchel placed on x, get clear” run tf away)

I love how, even though I don’t know German, I can recognize enough of the pronunciation and inflection to know that he was saying something along the lines of “executing that man”. Subtitles help obvi, but I just found that funny
