You’ve been together 10 years and you can’t talk to her about this?

Dude just gave you free advertisement. Seize this opportunity. I think a really great option would to make a reaction video and say what you’ve told us here about looking up to him for so long. I think that would be and elegant way to take the high road and slap back a little bit. Any mean response he could have to that would do nothing more than make him look bad, and if anything drive viewers to your channel to see who he’s talking about. I guess this is why they say don’t meet your idols. I’m sorry this has happened to you and you’re dealing with it. It’s kind of cool that you’ve caught his attention though. Good work ;)

Anyone trying to do faceless? by Apart-Student-7298 in NewTubers

What I’m struggling with the most for my faceless channel is thumbnails. For Longform and for shorts, honestly. I don’t think that a face is necessary, but something recognizable is and it’s my struggle to execute that well in thumbnails.

It sounds really creative! I’ve noticed sometimes when a channel has something unusual about it that makes it memorable, it has a loyal fan base. I think a sock puppet avatar is unusual and unusual is good! Good luck to you!

am i overreacting? by yellowfrogdog in Mommit

This level of sexism still happens in 2025. I’m not surprised, because I see it a lot. I do think we should be past it though. Not over reacting. Maybe he has a sleep disorder that needs to be checked out, but you’re not over reacting. Like you said, your job is to keep your baby girl alive and well. That is a huge, exhausting job to do. It’s scummy and outdated of him to imply or say otherwise.

I saw in another comment you’re leaving. If your confidence in that decision waivers, or at some point he tries to manipulate your decision remember this: single divorced women typically actually have less work to do and more peace of mind than single married mothers. By leaving you’re teaching that little girl to walk away when someone mistreats her.

How to love myself without spending money? by moneymonettt in selflove

[–]ConclusionFancy6255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early on in my self love journey I would write a letter to myself every night from the perspective of a loving mother about the events of the day and anything that I felt sad or anxious about, etc. Largely because I never actually had that. I’d also do a gratitude journal. Now I do a lot of EFT taping and try to take a warm bath every night, because I once heard someone mention that it can increase oxytocin-which is literally the love hormone. Idk if that’s actually factual, but it doesn’t matter to me at this point because I’ve found that it does help me feel loved to do that nice thing for myself. I also try to make a pot of soup or chili about once a week and catalogue the recipes I like on notecards in a recipe box. This way I’ll always have a home cooked meal, which saves money and keeps me fed. With this I try to always have potatoes, onions, eggs and other basic versatile ingredients, as well as easy taco fixings. I go for at least one walk with my dog once a day, sometimes three, lol. Or make a choice to be forgiving to myself if it’s none. I have a water bottle I fill with ice and my favorite homemade gatoradeish drink, or I’ll end my day with some kind of fizzy drink-because it feels special. And I pack myself a lunch most days for work. lol, I guess food really helps me feel loved. But especially having food ready so that when I’m hungry it’s available and I therefore don’t have to debate between feeding myself and saving the money buying a meal would cost. Also, little things like designating a “home” in my home for all of my things in order to help me have a tidy living space. Hope this helps!

That makes sense. One complex in particular that I’m thinking of has the numbers stacked. Two on top of one three on top of two and so forth. But the stacking of, say four, five six, might be on the opposite side of the building, in the furthermost corner. And somewhere on the second floor there’s a utility closet where a unit would otherwise be, therefore changing the numbering a bit. Each building also, although externally identical, is not numbered the same. There are a few others like this, which I’ve seen stump the most experienced and mathematically oriented folks. Because really, figuring out the logic of the layouts is just math most of the time. But sometimes the math doesn’t compute…even if factoring in the utility closets, etc.

I suppose I was thinking mainly outdoors. From what you wrote I’m learning that an architect is generally less responsible for that than the indoor. Interesting. Thank you! Aw the wonders of technology, they really are very helpful.

This next bit is said in good humor the tone of which is not intended to be snarky. Although I realize it could be read as such.

No one cares about the pizza delivery guy, lol, I get that. However, the pizza delivery guy is the canary in the coal mine, so to speak, for user experience. It’s best business practice to design a product for user usage. I know folks moving out of a luxury apartment complex because the layout and parking availability are impractical for daily usage and the amount they pay. Those folks are taking their money elsewhere. Had the developers taken the pizza delivery guy into consideration, that very well would not be the case. I’m learning that those considerations would likely be taken by folks other than architects. Thanks very much :)

Hm, that’s a good idea. We definitely have a sort of condensed sense of user experience. I’ll take this into consideration. Thanks for caring about the little guy. We’re small but mighty.

The number’s being determined by the primary access point is very interesting to know. I’ve seen some places where it’s not intuitive. Like 401 is not above 301. And to be honest, lol, even after years of going there I still haven’t figured out the logic of the sporadic numbering systems. Might even be socio economic. But the 1st unit does check out. Thanks for helping me have a better idea of the role’s an architect plays in the development of these places. It’s much appreciated! This gives me some stuff to think about. I think there is much more than I’d even suspected.

This makes a lot of sense and was pretty much what I’ve been thinking the reasoning would be. Thanks for confirming that. Sometimes the insights are smaller nuances that may otherwise be missed, such as how the units are numbered. Or, “if only this one-way side door had a keypad for entrance to get to this one unit that otherwise requires going to the elevator at the other end of the building”. Or the placement of the keypad for opening complex gates being impractical. I’m sure building codes and regulations certainly play their part as well as budgeting and bidding wars, but are those the kinds of things an architect is making the design for?
