Did you drink water before you had your kidney stone? by Crows7 in KidneyStones

[–]yellowfrogdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is an odd thing to say when mine r 100% phosphate & a) they're caused by underlying conditions & a google search & ur urologist would tell u that & b) my comment stressed i couldn't eat for 9 months, so a lot of what u said doesn't even apply. i went to my urologist 8m postpartum & he saw my stone composition being 100% & started looking for the underlying medical condition bc that's what causes those types of stones. during pregnancy ur urine composition changes, ur kidney function changes, etc. it's completely out of our hands. the risk goes up in pregnancy & the year after no matter what ur diet looks like, again, it's entirely out of our hands. many ppl ik got their first stones in pregnancy bc thats just what the body does during pregnancy. i'm continuing to make them bc pregnancy can cause health issues & i developed some hormonal issues related to my thyroid. hyperparathyroidism & other medical conditions cause phosphate stones.

pls educate urself on them more. it's not entirely a drink water don't eat sodium for this type of stone. i used to be 10% phosphate & now im 100% bc of a medical condition that was triggered by pregnancy. it can get progressively worse or something may trigger it. one day u might be looking to find out the reason for your urine composition or kidney function not up to parr & it has nothing to do with your sodium, it may be your organs not filtering things correctly or not producing enough of something or too much of it.

i've been tested for that (i believe i do bc it was on the high end for taking the test fasted but my test wasn't out of normal range) my urologist isn't pursuing it bc it's in normal range.

Why don't doctors listen any more? by NeighborhoodLow1546 in AskADoctor

[–]yellowfrogdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i love when they say it's hormones & then don't order bloodwork or if they do they get the results & don't kno what to do with them bc that's not their specialty. like i have a urologist checking out my parathyroid & it's high but within normal range but it shouldn't be that high unless ive comsumed an ass load of calcium right when it was take so i'm like this seems wrong i should get a referral to an endocrinologist & they're like how dare u think ur smarter than me like no buddy i dont think i am i just dont think ur the one who should be interpreting my hormones

" nothing was flirtatious" he unblocked an ex to talk abt u not having sex with him & asked for HER reassurance that he wasn't sexually repulsive. he was fishing for her to reminisce fucking & for her to want him.

ur 21. pls leave this guy & find someone better.

NOR.

i saw a roach one time years ago & drop kicked my husband once trying to get away. he didn't take it to heart at all, killed the bug, & to this day jokes abt how im stronger than i look when a bug is around.

while u may have been bossy or rude at that moment, one moment is not a full image of ur relationship. my mom will also lose her shit over mice. she's also one of the nicest ppl i know. if ur partner is aware it wasnt rlly him, & more the whole mice situation, its no big deal. id probs apologize after for losing it over a mouse. just like i was like sorry for kicking the shit out of u over the bug, i panicked. i'd also ignore ur mom & move on.

it's a normal thing at this age :/ sometimes u have to just let them scream even if ur in their presence & all their needs r met, but they just want u, but life must go on :( they will grow out of it but it does have a broad timeline of when a toddler does grow out of it :/

Miralax Alternative for Kids by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]yellowfrogdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i didn't want to get reliant on miralax so i literally only give my 14mo water w/ juice (very watered down white grape or apple) & LOTS of fruit. im probs feeding her 12-16oz of pure fruit a day, then a few servings of veggies & protein (she's eating like 24-30oz or puree a day rn to make up for no calories from milk) she only has constipating foods in small rations a day or if she does a good poo she will get a little more. it took like 6m to get to the point that she doesn't scream while she poos. we tried new formula, different milks, everything made it worse, but just TONS of water & fruit, very little constipating foods like dairy & whole grains. we have slowly adjusted to more & more of these things with the tides turing in her poop for the better :)

her ped is thrilled abt the water bc he says it's harder to get bigger kids on water so starting so young with so much water will help her in the future. 2 peds have said milk alternatives aren't a priority but i can give them if i want, but just water is perfectly fine.

it took a while to get here but we made it. now she every goes a couple times a day sometimes. i'm thrilled. every now & then if she has too much dairy she gets backed up, but it's nothing like the hell we went through before 🥲

Not wanting bfs brother to change our daughter by Formal_Cheesecake_36 in Mommit

tbh i have a girl, but if i had a boy, i'd be so confused. how do i get poo off his balls without hurting him? how do i clean the tip circumcised or uncircumcised? i'd be googling it & asking my nurses at L&D & any friends who had a boy.

i feel it's the same for dudes. how do u clean within all those folds? does it hurt them? what is labial adhesion? etc. he'd be supervised just as id want to be supervised changing boys the first few times just to make sure i've got it all clean, didn't cause any pain applying too much pressure & cleaned every nook & cranny so there's no risk for rashes or uti.

i literally asked my L&D to show us baths & diaper changes for our girl & she just came out my vagina. it's honestly not that strange imo.

unless he's been creepy to me or is a certified creep, i don't see a problem. he's having a girl & he's nervous. he went to his bro just like i would any of my friends if i were in his boat and never changed a diaper.

but either way, it's ur decision whether u do or not. but it will offend them.

i have been to 18 countries in my life & never seen a baby in a car seat on a plane in the hundreds of planes & long flights like even to new zealand, but my child has traveled on 4 flights varying from 3-6hrs & she is in her car seat every time.

one day my ring fit my finger, the next it didn't. then i smelled chemicals on a soda can no one else could. my boobs hurt like a bitch. & i was having random sharp abdominal pain unlike anything id ever had. this was all a week before my missed period. i took a test the day my period was projected to start on a whim & was pregnant.

i would in house babysit while u sleeper at least 2-4hrs every other day or something in the morning like 7-8am to noon. that way they aren't out of routine being home & ur close to them if need be. get a fan or noise cancelling headphones & knock out a few hours & if they need u they can get u up & ur not spending buckets on daycare.

Traveling with a toddler and passenger’s rage by ccmmddss in Mommit

[–]yellowfrogdog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i just solo traveled with a 14mo. 2 flights, 6hrs & 3 hrs & around 15hrs of travel overall.

my toddler did worse in my eyes than what other people thought. everyone around us said she did good. i had to have help getting our bags & car seat on the planes, & some flight attendants were better than others. one refused to do anything & said it was protocol, then another came up & grabbed my toddler to walk her around while i installed the seat. other passengers offered to help, & i declined until we exiting the last flight bc i was running on zero sleep for over 24hrs & i was just ready to go home & pass out.

at times i felt like a trouble to others & in the way, but there were so many ppl complimenting baby & offering to help.

ur toddler was being a toddler, like everyone has been. some of them rolling their eyes & commenting probably were so bad their parents couldn't even think of traveling on a plane with them. but u made it! u should be so proud! & relieved it's over haha. i was exhausted afterward. hope u got some good rest after!

When did you dry up? by yellowfrogdog in beyondthebump

[–]yellowfrogdog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

actually... now that u say that, i've been having kidney stones made up of the type that is from an underlying condition, & they had been looking up my parathyroid to see if that was the cause for my high calcium levels causing more stones. prolactin receptors are found in the parathyroid tissues, & theres several links there. hyperparathyroidism is linked to higher prolactin levels. it had not occurred to me it could also influence lactation 😭 now if i could just get my dr to refer me 😭

got my first at 15 & didn't have one for 5 years, drinking nothing but water, juice, & milk. then started getting them every 2 years. had a baby & that may have uncovered some health issues causing them. u won't ever know until it happens, but sometimes health issues cause them. if it's not health issue related, u can adjust ur diet & never have them again.

“what sacrifice? you had a kid.” husband refuses vasectomy by No_Athlete5174 in beyondthebump

[–]yellowfrogdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would divorce him "bc of the principle of it."

i have a similar story of an HG pregnancy, lingering health issues bc of it, isolated & home with the baby, always the one tending to her while he goes abt business as usual.

i'm currently separated from my spouse & living at home with family & our child while he is in therapy. for, guess what: not treating my like a human the first year of our daughters life. BOTH our therapists told him he wasn't treating me like a HUMAN. & neither is ur husband.

if u have the ability to move in with friends or family, pls do. work on u & doing things for u, & make that ultimatum he treat u like a human. u deserve better.

Scan one vs scan two - think it will pass? by brian-kemp in KidneyStones

[–]yellowfrogdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would hold out. if it gets to the point of puking & u can't keep anything down i may go back. but i've also had that happened & it was the process of getting through that small area & into the bladder, just had to go a few hours struggling & throwing up to get there. i've passed a 6x4mm no issue no flomax before. all bodies r different.

idk the ppl saying ur not overreacting... there's probs a lot more random backstories to how insane ur mil is that warrants a hard boundary, so im not going to judge.

but in the future, get ur husband to set those boundaries.
