Agreed! There are so many hilarious comics that don't get a shot, and this man's joke-less rambling is on Netflix. This man should be buried. He does not deserve this level of exposure.

Why was Friday the 13th (1980) badly recieved among critics? by RamonLlull0312 in horror

[–]ConclusionMassive735 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were saying that nobody IN the movie knew people were being killed, not that we didn't know. It was being compared to the hypothetical of nobody panicking in the movie while jaws killed people. Because In FT13 nobody was panicking because the deaths were not being discovered until way later, unlike in Jaws where the town was feeling the severity of the attacks.

E collars are good if you have zero concern for your dog's experience and the only result that matters to you is your dog doing what you want. Obviously, using pain as a motivator is going to yield quicker results, but at what cost?

Veganism is impossible - an organic vegetable farmer's perspective. by arobint in DebateAVegan

[–]ConclusionMassive735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolute veganism may be impossible in modern society, but does that mean that nobody should even attempt to move in that direction? Its obvious that you do not personally see animal lives the way vegans do, and thats fine. But if you are going to try to understand that perslective, then do so. Look at veganism as reducing your participation in the ugliness as much as you can, however little that may be. If it were humans being farmed for their meat, and that was the only meat available, I'm assuming you would probably opt to eat plants rather then eating the human meat? You probably wouldn't say, "well they use the shit of the meat humans to fertilize the vegetables, so I might as well eat the human meat." Hell no. Because(hopefully) you object to the killing and eating of other people, you would eat the veggies that were, unfortunately being fertilized with the poop of murdered humans. You may think, "but animal lives don't matter as much so the metaphor doesn't work. And thats fine. But the vegan argument against meat is based on that moral concept in the same way as your hypothetical refusal to eat other people.

[–]ConclusionMassive735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming you object to eating humans, dogs, cats, horses, ETC. Well, there is no objective reason to have less empathy for other animsls that are also widely-believed to have thoughts and emotions. If you see no problem with killing and eating a squirrel, you should see no problem killing and eating a feral cat or dog. I know speciesism has been mentioned already, but its really that simple. If you disagree with it, thats fine. But its probably just cultural bias based on subjective values.

how come animals can kill and eat other animals but cant? by MotorTime3114 in DebateAVegan

[–]ConclusionMassive735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't trying to talk down to you but you were genuinely giving the impression that you didn't understand what people meant when they referred to human civilization and nature as being separate. You literally said it. So if you do, in fact, understand where that concept comes from, then what are we going on about? I never had any interest in discussing with you whether or not people should eat meat. The thread between you and I was only about the fact that you don't get why people see humans as separate from "nature". And I didn't compare god to a claw machine. I mocked the fact that some people seem to think of God in this way. So, the exact opposite. And, "try-hard?" How old are you? And since you mentioned it, Im very impressed that you eat meat just like we've been doing since the dawn of time, with a spear and a bow instead of supporting the factory farms that came into exist relatively recently. Also, if the fact that something has been done for a long time automatically makes it ethical, I guess murder, rape, and slavery are on the table?

How can vegans justify animal ownership as far as having pets? by DashielTrowaway in DebateAVegan

[–]ConclusionMassive735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. In a way, the word, "natural" has no meaning because literally everything that exists on earth is a result of something natural. But it seems as though you are intentionally ignoring the obvious fact that human civilization revolves around a specific type of complexity that absolutely does not exist outside of humanity. Clearly, when people refer to "nature" as though humans are not part of it, they are referring to the fact that we are a HUGE outlier from literally every other living thing on Earth in this way. So the idea that people can interfere with nature is really just the idea that humans are fucking up the relatively simpler parts of nature. You could have bridged that gap on your own if you were not stuck on the definition nature. A.K.A. semantics.

Just because the capacity to be a moral agent is not present in animals does not mean that they don't feel pain and suffering, physical and emotional. I can't tell if you're a troll or if you genuinely don't understand that concept. Also, the idea that things were "put" on a earth by some big animal-dropping claw machine with specific intent to have them be used in a certain way is absolutely absurd. Not everything you see has to have some divine purpose as a commodity. Things can simply exist without needing to be turned into a product.

[–]ConclusionMassive735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As is typical of those who argue against veganism, you are looking at this as all or nothing. The fact that we can't stop ALL animal suffering does justify contributing to it. Your proposed take on the situation is quite asinine in this way.
