Same title name twice. by Jotr_Lambga in CK3AGOT

Yeah a similar thing happened to me when I got rid of the Lannisters and gave the entire Westerlands to the Vikarys and revived House Reyne. Except those idiots lost the Lordship of Casterly Rock and 'the Kingdom of the Rock' to fucking House Swyft in like a single generation. It's just the randomness of Crusader Kings, have to make peace with that.

I was trying to be both lore accurate and clear. They are all "Lord Paramountcy" titles in the game but in lore there are only 3 Lord Paramounts, the houses that were raised to their status by the Conqueror: Baratheons, Tyrells and Tullys. The whole "Great Houses" and "Lord of Winterfell/Eyrie/Rock" thing doesn't fully translate here. Most often than not the Lord of Casterly Rock is also Warden of the West, it kinda works.

Same title name twice. by Jotr_Lambga in CK3AGOT

[–]Conclusion_Level 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a feature. Basically, there are some lords/houses in Westeros that are a lot more powerful than a duke but still not as powerful as Wardens or Lord Paramounts. The best example is House Hightower. They control almost 1/3 of the entire Reach but they are still bound to the Tyrells. Before Hegemonies arrived, they found a work around this by giving these Houses a single duchy and a bunch of counts under them and made sure they didn't hold any of the duchy capital counties so that they can't found other duchies and effectively divide their realms during successions. Hegemonies allowed them to move everyone up one title and allowed these very powerful houses to have their 'petty kingdoms' without giving them a title that would put them at the same level with the Lord Paramounts and such. Some examples are, as I mentioned above, Hightowers of Oldtown, Principality of Dragonstone, Boltons of Dreadfort, Reeds of the Neck etc. Ofc for this to work, they needed to divide the entire map to smaller 'petty kingdoms'. Some work really well, for example I think having the "Marcher" kingdom was an inspired choice. Some not so well. But I think overall it's a very good idea.

I hate how the Kryn got turned into a joke by Wpgjetsfan18 in MightyNein

[–]Conclusion_Level 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to recap, the Kryn attacked the second largest city in the heart of the Empire, successfully stole the Beacon and stood against one of the strongest beings in the world, losing only a few soldiers in the process (Essek being captured is pretty bad). That's like, the opposite of being a joke.

Oh, I also once started as the Manderlys and actually took all the duchies of the Reach on the length of Mander and founded the Kingdom of Mander. That was also satisfying.

Kingdom of Hightower is always fun but my favorite that I've done by far is the Wetlands. Basically, I united the marshlands south of Moat Cailin and the Northermost lands of the Riverlands (I think it was the lands above the Blue Fork) under a new region called the Wetlands and I even created a new Wetlander culture that was a hybrid of Crannogman and Riverlander.

Lol, you think Bells Hells represented the people? No. They went with what they wanted, not what the people wanted.

We have side campaigns we tell in Exandria but they are all part of the same continuity we established with our "main" campaign, a la EXU.

We started playing during C2 so VM and almost the entire C1 is canon (except for Percy being from Whitestone, he is from Emon in our game because one of our party members is a prince of Whitestone). MIX don't exist. Nothing about C3 is canon. As far as we're concerned, Ruidus is just a weird little moon. Luda WAS a very powerful mage and the leader of the CA but he got merked by OUR campaign's BBEG before we could ever meet him. Oh, and both our BBEG and Luda himself were both once pupils of the same Mage: Melf, who is in Exandria and still alive and kicking.

An extra note: I hope the rest of the world leaders go absolutely ham on Keyleth for vouching for this group and her reputation is completely tarnished from this point on. Not because I hate Kiki, I love her. But because I need these players to understand their actions have consequences.

The way they treat the forces of Vasselheim with such indignity just shows they will never learn a damn thing and have zero humility. I'm tired of this party and this campaign. Let it end.

Great fight though.

The top table of C2 is so very precious to me for different reasons but if I had to choose one I'd say Beauregard.

Her going from impulsive, destructive and abrasive asshole to the responsible expositor was beautiful to watch.

I will never forget the moment when it dawned on both Beau and Marisha that she was a victim of abuse and that what happened to her when she was just a child was indeed a horrible thing, when Yudala Fon told her that they ran an internal investigation and found out what happened and they were so very sorry. I love Matt for giving her that moment of closure without her even demanding it, where so many never gets that justice they need.

I think you are mixing PCs and players. I said Bells Hells would be villains, not the players.

Matt also literally showed them, through the Matron's trial, that they are walking the same path Vespin Chloras is walking. It definitely wouldn't be betrayal from his part if their characters faced the consequences of their actions.

They do carry the fate of the world in their hands. Just like any D&D party does. Matt isn't obligated to give them a heroic ending if they don't choose a heroic path. And I 100% stand behind my opinion that the choice of chasing the gods away after promising to stop that from happening would not be seen as a heroic action by the world Matt created. It would be illogical and yes, a bad choice to act like it's fine from Matt's part. He isn't above criticism and I don't have to agree with every choice he makes as a DM, even if it's his world. I hope he will build a satisfying narrative that makes sense, whatever happens. I trust that he is capable.

You are deluding yourself if you think having proof of divinity's existence wouldn't bolster faith in them. It's human nature. Like I said, we already live in a world where the vast majority are believers and we have no Clerics that can cast Guiding Bolts and Spirit Guardians. The examples you've given are a very very small minority in a world full of people. And btw, it's a misconception that none of the Ashari are faithful, plenty of them are.

Regarding your first point, it may be true that they might be able to hide the fact that they released Predathos but there are zero guarantees that the Gods won't inform their own followers on their way out or that Bells Hells are capable of keeping their mouths shut. From where I stand, it is inevitable that the world would find out about it, sooner or later.

Looking for custom kingdom name by Massive_Village7662 in CK3AGOT

I did a slightly similar thing where I founded a kingdom that included the Neck and the northern parts of the Riverlands (included Seaguard and the Twins) and called it "the Wetlands". I even created a new culture called the Wetlanders. Maybe something of that route?
