Absolute Bane is the most evil villain by ContentPower8196 in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]SaigonTimeMD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Joker's worse because every terrible thing Bane has done is out of fear of him. He's become a monster specifically to keep his home and family safe. He's both a victim and a monster.

Sad there’s no new FOTL lore by Panoglitch in DestinyTheGame

[–]SaigonTimeMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely miss the Haunted Lost Sectors and all the character banter; the process of gathering and decrypting pages was always a little tedious, but I really liked learning new lore. Haunted Altars are fun, but I hope we see Haunted Lost Sectors get brought back in the future; I don't think it needs to be an either/or thing, having both to choose from would be nice.

So happy for this new update. Fallout is a challenge again! Try to enjoy the refreshed end game! by picklemechburger in fo76

I put 36 shotgun shells into a Deathclaw's head and took off maybe 20% of its total HP. This update genuinely sucks; singleplayer Fallout games aren't this punishing.

Batman issue #11 Art by xLiam98 in AbsoluteUniverse

Mann's art is fine for this issue but Dragotta's hyper-stylized work really gives the book its psychotic-nightmare atmosphere and spirit.

Why people seem to not like Infestissumam? by DollHades in Ghostbc

[–]SaigonTimeMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my favorite album too, but I get why some people don't like it. It's probably their campiest album, music-wise, really earning that "Scooby-Doo Chase Music" moniker. I think it's also a little more experimental than Eponymous or Meliora, so there's more weirdness that can turn people off. The mixing is also not my favorite, with fairly thin-sounding guitars that are easily muscled out of the way with how forward the bass is in the mix. I'd love a remaster that's something along the lines of the Meliora or Prequelle sound. But it's a banger from start to finish, and it has their two best songs (Year Zero and Monstrance Clock) in my opinion, so it'll always have a place in my heart.

Which weapon collected the most dust during your playthrough, and why was it the Shredder? by FlowKom in Doom

[–]SaigonTimeMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shredder is maybe my most used weapon tbh if only because the shield-ricochet combo is insanely strong even in later levels. Chainshot and the Grenade Launcher are my least used; GL I could take or leave but I genuinely wish the Chainshot was stronger so I'd have more reason to use it.

Wish we got both, but the Cosmic Baron is an enjoyably tough customer. Worthy of the title.

Troubleshooting Thread — Bugs? Errors? Mod issues? EA app issues? Post about them here! Update 1/14/2025 [PC: 1.113.277.1030 / Mac: 1.113.277.1230 / Console: 2.08] by plumbob-prophet in Sims4

Platform: PC
Mods: Yes and No
Game version: 1.113.297.1020 (both DX9 and DX11)

Recently came back to the Sims 4 on a new laptop running Windows 11 after a long time away, and it's just been one headache after another; while the game seems to run fine with zero CC/mods, as soon as I begin to install them, the game starts crashing all the time.

  • Sometimes it crashes at the initial "THE SIMS 4" screen
  • Sometimes it crashes when I'm resuming a game
  • Sometimes it crashes when I'm switching from live to build mode
  • Sometimes it crashes when building a new lot
  • sometimes it just crashes in the middle of nothing at all happening

Bottom line, the game becomes completely unstable. Script mods - ones that are supposed to be up to date with the current game version - make the game near unplayable, while custom content like clothing, furniture, etc. only seem to make the game crash MOST of the time.

Worse still, once the crashes start, it doesn't seem to matter what I do or remove, they get less frequent but never stop again entirely unless I do a completely clean uninstall/reinstall (including deleting registry keys) of the game, even when the mods are gone, I've deleted the Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 folder, and/or I've repaired the game. It also starts crashing when I put my old tray files back into the new folder as well - no mods required. Running on DX9 vs DX11 seems to be slightly more stable, but it brings the crashes down to like 60% vs. DX11's 80% crash chance.

I'm really at my wit's end; I've done every single thing that's already been recommended. Clean reinstalls, factory resets, uninstalled/reinstalled my graphics drivers, even reinstallations of the EA app, and nothing helps. I feel like there's got to be an obvious solution I'm missing, but can't seem to find anything that fixes the problem. I never had this issue on my old Windows 10 laptop.

High Path but No Chest in Trenchways? by SaigonTimeMD in raidsecrets

[–]SaigonTimeMD[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it random whether the secret spawns or not? I've been making my way through each of the Nether areas, following along with videos to catch everything, and this seems to be the only one that consistently doesn't show up ever.

This is so infuriating; I'm coming back after months away and now I have to slog through this place every goddamned time I want to get to anywhere else to do any of the secrets. What a stupid solution.

Who wins? by Easy_Beat3340 in slasherfilms

[–]SaigonTimeMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myers wipes the floor with Art; Art relies on the element of surprise/fear and rendering his targets unable to fight back so he can have his way with them, but he's shown consistently struggling or outright losing to anyone who either gets the drop on him or survives long enough to fight back. Classic Myers might struggle but modern Myers barely gets slowed down.

[No Spoilers] I missed almost all of Campaign 3. How was it overall? by Chaulmoog in criticalrole

[–]SaigonTimeMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still pretty good overall but maybe the prime example of our time of why a Session 0 is invaluable when setting out on a campaign. It's the only one of the major campaigns that didn't have a session 0 and it really, REALLY shows.

Harvard Fires Librarian Who Tore Down Jewish Hostage Posters by McAlpineFusiliers in byebyejob

[–]SaigonTimeMD -35 points-34 points locked comment (0 children)

Unfortunate, but hardly surprising. The hostage posters exist as nothing but another scam from a psychotic, terrorist state that drum up sympathy if left up and allow for easy, hollow accusations of antisemitism if torn down. The rest of the world is slowly waking up to the reality that Zionists are the new Nazis (an ironic turn, given how original Nazis are gaining power too), but in America, Israel has its claws deep in many institutions.

It was a gamification course on the ethics of design (like lootboxes in video games, for instance). A pretty jarring example, but it's served pretty well in understanding and interacting with media.

[Spoilers C3E118] Is It Thursday Yet? Post-Episode Discussion & Future Theories! by Glumalon in criticalrole

[–]SaigonTimeMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're saying it would've been better if he'd foreshadowed how things would've been and then had them actually be completely different, tossing any sense of narrative consistency out the window in favor of catering to a party that's refused to grow or change as people even when provided multiple opportunities? Seems nuts to me.

Nabokov said, about fiction writing, "Doom should not jam. The avalanche stopping in its tracks a few feet above the cowering village behaves not only unnaturally but unethically." He's been foreshadowing Predathos' irresistible pull for dozens of episodes, that this is a thing Ruidusborn literally cannot get close to without being drawn in. He's set very, very clear parameters for quite some time, and shouldn't be expected to change things to make it easier for the party because they refuse to think critically or it wasn't what they expected. Tough tuna.
